The location was epic as well ,taken when we camped at the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway .The mud froze on the side of my truck into that ,,,

    Nice Joe!
Been there! Quite a amazing place, what struck me the most was the utter silence!! Probably the most quiet place I’ve ever been to. Would of gone to the Arctic Ocean but the locals where telling me I’d have to watch out for polar bears!! With the pup dogs in tow I decided to Xross off the Arctic Circle off the bucket list.
Frozen mud!! Looks (and I thought it was a wrap) nice going bro!!

The total silence of that place has to be experienced to really understand !

I love that silence. It's eery sometimes but when you get used to it, amazing. Maybe I've never experienced the arctic silence, but in Montana wilderness it's similar to the feeling.

    Again, great shot.

Coontown Landing, Sardis Lake, north of Oxford, Mississippi.

The lake was down far enough, you could drive out a short bit on to some of the trails. Most of them are still lake bottom mud, so that's a no go lol. But the clouds and warm weather made for a nice day to drive out there.

As a side note: Some folks may raise an eyebrow or so about the name of area of the lake. If you do, take it up with Core of Engineers - Vicksburg district. I don't control the name (and/or endorse its usage), but it is what it is. :notsure:

Yeah I lived in Oxford almost 20 years and then moved back home due to some fam health issues. I miss it. A lot. But I did spoil myself at Ajax's Diner yesterday.

Prob not the healthiest thing in the world to eat, but got splurge when visiting.

OMG Ajax - I would always dial 911 before sitting down so the medics would be nearby to wheel me out
on a stretcher after I ate there.
