    That's a good start!

    Annoyingly I don't have ESPN2 so I can't watch it.

Looks like it might snow this year on Christmas. Ground will still be covered from last storm but may get some more. Kids are excited…I’m not.

You are thinking of Peter Falk - Columbo. He lost the eye to cancer as a young child.

He sometimes would slip a reference into the show by asking someone to help look for something: "three eyes are better than one".

Short answer to the investigation question is yes, they had to build the case against the players. If you make an arrest too soon you only get the lower level people not the bosses so you have to let it go for a while to make the connections to them. When it’s a non-violent crime, LE can let the investigation go longer also, usually with State Attorney (whatever they call the prosecutor in NC) being involved in that decision. It’s also possible the Feds were involved and that usually slows things down too . The agencies involved probably knew/were watching where the property was going, they may have even been undercover as the buyer. Will be interesting to see more info come out on that.

The Rockford Files was a good show, Columbo too. I miss the old cop shows like that. Btw, Hill Street Blues is on Hulu, it’s a really good show from the technical side of doing the job even if it is dated.

And Good morning to everybody :hattip:

I had my first street bike motorcycle stolen back in the mid 1980's. I figured it was gone forever but low and behold if a couple of undercover officers didn't get it back for me. Man that still seems weird to this day because these two officers even delivered the motorcycle back to me, driving in a white van with no windows. Couple of scraggly looking fellas you would never ever suspect they were officers.
I forget the small talk because they weren't very talkative, but recall them mentioning lucky because it was still intact and not in pieces.

You were lucky, even today stolen bikes are usually parted out quickly.

I told my son last night that I need to look under his car because it looks like it might be leaking oil. He tells me it's due for a change so that's one thing on my agenda for today.
Knucklehead I tell ya. Knucklehead. Beat a vehicle right into the ground. A car that should easily last 200k miles and 10 years.....probably make it half that if lucky.

I get feeling pretty upset about it from time to time..
He's almost 22 years old. Mommy should cut the umbilical cord. Purchased his car, pay for his fuel, pay for his cell phone, buy his clothes, pay for his college, pay his insurance, etc, etc,
Then she co-sign on a loan for SS Camaro, pay for insurance on that too because I know he doesn't make enough part time for that...oh, don't forget tires we'll buy those too...
Then tear it up because he has no value of money...because why? It's all free

Workers really fall into that category. Even if you get them nice things the treat them the same.

It could be smashing a $1000 air tool down on a table 250 times a day or perhaps just not bothering to oil it, loading anything with wheels to the point of buckling or just pulling on the tape measure with the lock on -- they beat the living snot out of everything under the guise of "needing to get this done" or "saving time".

Then they bring it to the shop and say -- "this thing is junk".

Looking back it is a wonder I never rang someones bell...

The creeper van delivery and no paperwork or badges is very unusual. Imma gonna say ATF involvement. They ran a lot of biker investigations in the 80s
