Thanks for your patience. I went to ACE hardware and bought some swivel couplings you see here. They are right about 1/4" O.D. I test fit them in the parking lot. I smoothed the casting ridges to improve the action. Then sacrificed a set of Moto Tie Downs.tail2.jpg tail1.jpg

So what you see is what you get. The tailgate latch handle works perfectly to release both sides without effort. The next is to have a mounting point. I have bedside stiffeners, so handled. You could attach to the tailgate latch D Rings with a custom set up. I would not recommend bedside rails for tis one..

    SAFETY WARNING
THE TAILGATE IN THIS POSITION IS ALSO "UNKEYED" FOR REMOVAL AT THE MOUNTING POINTS. IF YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY THIS GAME, ADD A HOSECLAMP AS SUCH TO OVERCOME THE UNKEYED POSITION AND ASSURE THE GATE STAYS PUT.

Holly S^&$ on the performance of this thing. I'll break down the performance side soon. SIBITune, 4:29, etc.

Great build, when you had your spindle gussets done, did you have to use spacers or do your wheels have offset?

    Thanks

My Fuel Wheels are 16"x8" +1 offset. They fit TRD/OR without mods. Even with gusseting..
The project was to be a Mind F^$*.
Meaning, We flared the bedsides +2", but left the +1 wheel offset as is, creating a "tubbed" effect in the rear. Next, we left the Front fenders as is, but added +1.25" Wheel spacers to have the front track wider than the rear and appear wider.
So, The rear body is wider than the front, but the front wheels are wider than the rear. You end up with a really aggressive look, WITHOUT FIBERGLASS OR LONG TRAVEL. Just saying.. One of the most concrete choices for this build so far.
NO FIBERGLASS OR LONG TRAVEL. Home3.jpg
I've ran wheels spacers my entire life..I'm 52 ... I'm still here.. Never had an issue

I liked what you did there, I have a short bed and thought of the flare, I don't think there would be much there though. I have fiberglass for the front in my garage, I have never liked how fiberglass never has the same finish as metal. I am still considering it. I will take some pictures over the weekend. We have very similar setups. I will see in the Malecon in SF one of these times...

So I have a LT with Fiberglass in the family.
Noise... #1, Sway at speed on mex roads #2
Hybrid across terrain was the goal. See you in SF

Such an annoyingly immaculate build. It must be nice to have a plan, skills, and to know what you’re doing. Thanks for making everyone else look like total hacks!

Thank you buddy.. Not trying to pull anybody down. The Truck is an expression. A vision. Hoping that some on here get to see the attributes in a Tacoma build they had been hoping to see.
    GRATEFUL,,,,,,
