This is a first for me. Out on some challenging but not crazy trails and must have caught a rock (there were plenty of them). Didn't notice it until airing up. No scuffs visible so it must have happened early in a 8 hour day of wheeling. Tire still had the same pressure I started with so that was a plus.
Now the issue is getting a matching replacement from FN as they changed the lug style since mine were made.
These are the flow formed FN six shooters with 285/70/17 BFG KO2. Want to be clear I have no issue with the brand. I clearly hit a boulder.

I'd suggest AWRS as well. They have franchise locations all over the US. They "remanufactured" my FJ wheels a few years ago when the OEM powder coating started to peal, and they can do some amazing things with repairs.

Appreciate the reference, but this isn't a surface defect. I'm missing a 2" section of the bead. Definitely need a replacement.

OP, have you tried calling FN to see if they could do anything. Not warranty, but they may have 1 of your wheels still in stock. Or possibly have a good refurb.......

Yeah, you're right. No repair to the damage. Replacement is the path. For now, install the spare in that location, retire that wheel.

Interesting....There is a warning on the tire, "Do not use on 17" diameter rims." Yet the tire is 285/70-17.....

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Do not use on 17.5" rims - check again.

    Nevermind......the 5 is nearly obliterated......

I thought that was an odd warning.

Not necessarily. They do some pretty amazing repairs in addition to fixing surface blemishes and refinishing. Can't hurt to ask....

I did call FN and they were trying to see if they had old stock in a warehouse. Called back again and apparently the family got Covid so along with the holiday I'm gonna give them a minute to get back to me.
I did change the tire when I noticed the damage. That picture was the tire in the bed.
I'll see how the replacement thing pans out before I worry about a potential repair. The ARWS website specifies "curb rash, bends, corrosion and small cracks" and I'm well beyond that.
