As I installed my rear shocks I noticed that as the car sits (with OME Dakar leafs) there's only about 5-6" of downward travel in the shocks (maybe less) and about 4-5" before I hit the bump stop. There seems to be a whole lot more upward travel.

Just wondering why that is? I can't see the need for my rears to go up, but if I added heavy load in the back, and my rear is sagging that only leaves 1-2" before I hit the bump stops.

Can you please post a picture of your leaf packs. Sounds like they have a negative arch.

Also what shocks are they? Did you look up specs on the shock mfg website to see what the travel numbers are? Maybe you bought shocks that aren't suited for your application and they are too short?

it is pretty common to have a little more droop that up travel.

That's the engineered design from the factory on most SOA setups. If you want more uptravel, go with a SUA setup.

You have a flip kit plus the ever so tall "superbumps." This combo has killed your uptravel. Going back to oem bumpstops will give you more up travel.

Some of this Some of that
Those super bumps are hollow right? Prob compress easier than the factory ones and there’s another inch of travel than it would seem. I got timbrens for towing pretty similar

Flip kit killed around maybe 1/2in of height tho depending on how the bumpstops would be mounted stock that might of been taken into consideration already.

If those are OME dakar mediums that looks about right as far as a settled ride height.

They aren't that soft. I ran them for a few days with the same setup as OP. Was hitting the bumpstops on the smallest of dips. Went back to stock bumps, and all was great.

I was told that because I had extended travel shocks I needed bump stocks that were atleast .75" taller to avoid damage to the shocks.

Have you measured available shock travel vs bump to frame? That's the only way to know for sure.

Another way to correct this is with more lift. If you are running Dakar medium, you can upgrade them to Dakar heavy by installing their extra leaf.
