Not too familiar with regearing but i think i am going to choose a 5.29 regear for my 2016 tacoma SR 4cyl 2wd. I need help choosing which one will work with my truck and any other recommendations before i order one. For example, is 5.29 the right move if im putting on 285/75r16s? Which exact regear brand is suggested and will work with my truck?

    Found this on Nitro:
    https://www.nitro-gear.com/Toyota-8-5-29-Nitro-Ring-Pinion-p/tv6-529-29-ng.htm

Is that all I need for my 4cyl 2wd truck? If not what other components do I need?

I would recommend a package, like this

    https://rogue-offroad.com/2016-Newe...r-529-Ratio-Rear-Gear-Package-Kit_p_9130.html

(This is just an example I found on Google, there are others out there.)

That way you have all new wear components and shims etc.

As for what is right for you, that I can't answer.

Enter you info into a calculator and see where gears and tire put you and compare to stock. You should have 4.30 gears stock being a 4cyl.

Sorry, I can't find the link to a calculator I have linked in other threads... I will do some more digging...

Thanks a lot I was looking for a kit like that. I will also check out those calculators. Many tell me 5.29 is good incase i ever decide to upgrade to bigger tires and that 4.88 can still feel sluggish at times. Thanks again!!

Note that you already have 4.30s if you are an AT. So, 5.29s will not be as dramatic as it is with the 3.909s of the V6 AT.

Still IMHO, 5.29s are the right choice if swapping.
