To clarify, this was a single AAL or was it a 3 Leaf AAL? For some reason I was assuming 3 Leaf, but after re-reading, it sounds like a single. Assuming then that you left in the factory overload spring as well?

I’ll be doing a 1.5” Headstrong 3 Leaf AAL, which calls for removal of the overload… now I’m wondering if that won’t be enough rear to maintain a slight rake w/ notch 4 up front.

    Thanks!

    Hey Everyone,
Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I have a stock coil question: If I'm upgrading to 5100's on an SR5, am I good with those coils or do I need upgraded ones to go with the Bilsteins as well?

    Bilstein 5100's @ 2.0", Wheelers 1.5" AAL, 265/75/16's
Bilstien 5100's are designed to be used with the factory coils, I have them on my truck (top notch) with a Wheelers 1.5 inch AAL and I am very happy with the setup.

Happy to help. I had a ton of questions when I was looking for my lift.

I used Wheelers single 1.5" leaf and left the factory overload in.

If you do 1.5" both front and back you should keep the same factory rake, unless you always have a decent amount of weight in the back.

You’ll keep the same rake with the Headstrong 3 leaf (without overload). I got a bit over 1.5” from it, and even after I put my camper shell on, I’m still at over 1” lift back there. It rides great with or without extra weight in the bed, and the AAL can support a lot more weight than the stock leafs alone. My camper weighs about 200 lbs. and I’ll haul another 300+ lbs. of work gear back there and that’s what it takes to lose the rake completely and sit level.
