Not today but over the last week I installed my Dometic CFX95DZ on an Alu-Cab slider, ran power and plumbed my Decked system.

Master mechanic work today. Installed the "pro" grille.

    20211222_152934.jpg

Also installed some tail lights with no chrome in them.

But, I also did this and I like it alot.

    A pic? No.

    Three pics? Yes.

Left, Center, Right. Put up your dollars....

Normally I'd obscure the plate... but what's the point?

It’s definitely taking some adjustment for me too. My cars since 2010 all had push to start and proximity entry. I wouldn’t go as far to say as it’s pissing me off, but it would be nice. I’ve grabbed the door handle numerous times to not have it unlock for me. Someone mentioned they can’t do it because of the clutch cancel feature.

Which I think is complete crap. You can't use the clutch cancel unless you are in the vehicle, in neutral, and have already turned it to ACC. I've seen others say it's because it's a manual which, again, is complete crap. There is no reason a manual can't have keyless start/keyless entry. One of these days I'll get annoyed enough to fix it. I'll probably fix it around the same time I fix the cruise control, PCS and get a tune.

Im sure its way different than my 1992 toyota pickup, but it had the clutch cancel and all that stuff. I put a cheap aftermarket remote start in it, but I rarely used it since I liked to leave the truck in gear.

    Lol on number of pics.

Thanks buddy, that looks absolutely awesome especially with the black fender flares which is what I have as well. You sold me, that’s what I will be doing. Thanks again

Honestly, I don't care about remote start. There's lots of other features that I couldn't give a single shite about: leather seats, heated seats, clutch cancel, ADAS, automatic headlights (as long as I have auto off), automatic high-beams, front cameras, Wi-Fi, built-in Navigation, XM, etc.

I just want to walk up to my vehicle, tap a button on the door to unlock it, jump in, hit the clutch, push a button, and go.

Also, I never park in gear and neither does my wife so remote start wouldn't be an issue.

Day 3 of mods has been slower. I’m also running out of parts that I had stacked in the garage
    • Grill Lights - I know I know, but I like them and don’t see them around too much. I’ve got it setup where I can easily remove it if I get tired of them
    • Hardwire BlackVue 2ch Dash Cam
    • Screen Protech kit on gauges and radio
    • Aimed SS3s on a neighbors garage door
The big news of the day is my OEM Audio+ order finally shipped today after 6 weeks. My Meso stage 1 taillight kit shipped too but unfortunately I’ll be 800 miles away for a week when they both show up. We’ll be taking the wife’s Outback for that trip too.

I’m conflicted on how crazy I want to go with sound deadening though. I’ve already got enough Noico 80 mil CLD to do the whole cab (at ~40%) to reduce the rattle, but I’m not sure if I want to go crazy with MLV and CCF. I’m not an audiophile but the stock non-JBL system sucks.

    You're welcome.

I had no reservations making my move. I actually dented one of my chrome ones, and seeing reflections in the chrome like a broken mirror were driving me mad... So it was matte black or after-market matte black bumper. I figure I give the matte black plastic covers a shot first... They won.

Not sure how the look would be on a Taco w/ body colored flares... But with the OR black flares... No brainer it was going to be a winner winner..

Nope that’s the one that kills me. My favorite is that awkward lean in the drivers seat trying to fish the key out of my pocket.

Exactly. Every day when I leave my house muscle memory puts my keys in my pocket and when I get to the driver's door I'm reminded that I don't have one of the best features of my last car that got destroyed a month ago... and it makes me sad, and frustrated. I still like the truck, and I wouldn't have it any other way than with an MT, but that one little detail drives me nuts.

Sounds like you're living that garage-life, where you can leave your truck unlocked :p Maybe our next house will have that technology.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I leave the key tucked in the shifter lever boot.

It's so nice living "out of town". ;-)

Yes but I’ve also been that dumbass that unlocks the truck from a distance and puts the key back in my pocket

ah, yeah... I've already done that more than once too. I've then pulled my key out, stared and silently cursed at it.
