I'm on the west coast. Anyone know what I should expect to pay for rain gutters installed? I assume they basically charge by linear foot :notsure:

BIG variation. Fancy gutters = EXPENSIVE. Regular roll your own guy, not as cheap as you think.

Shop around.Yes by the foot and down spouts. $5000-$20,000K are quotes I got several years ago ~3000 sq ft two story (don't remember how many linear feet)

Might want to get a couple more quotes (if you haven’t already) and gauge from there.

I need roof help. I have no eaves on my house for vented soffit. Also, when they resided the house in '15, they boarded up the gable vents. Can I put vents in the fascia behind the gutter?

There is a ridge vent, and I plan on either putting the gable vents back in or putting roof vents just below the ridge.

    Picture for reference.

I had another guy stop by today for the install, he doesn't do ducting either and will have his guy contact me but due to the holiday probably won't be until Monday. This same guy wouldn't install my mini-split system a few years ago, I guess he's come around because he has no problem with them now. Mitsubishi has since released air handlers and my condenser is compatible so I'm going to utilize one for a single zone upstairs, possibly a second one downstairs for the living room/kitchen/bathroom (Mitsubishi helpline tech engineer said can run two air handlers as long as the BTUs don't exceed condenser rating) and the last two of the four zones will remain on the two rooms downstairs.

    edit:
This guy gave me a good out-the-door price to install a central HVAC system when I bought the place but I was set on mini-split efficiency so I declined his offer. I'm inclined to trust him, so we'll see.

I would not put holes in your fascia lol water will run right in
Just make sure your gable vents are big enough (there’s a formula that uses the volume of your attic to determine vent sizing)

try to find some that look like they would direct water away from the attic. They will work with your ridge vent to do a convection path. Adding roof vents will not do much better f there is already ridge venting.

Why doesn’t your house have eaves lol

I'm not sure I understand the bolded part.

Also, I don't know why there are no eaves. It's a bungalow built in 1936. Maybe that has something to do with it? :notsure:

Most gable vents will resemble shutters (but with screen on the back to keep out critters) to keep rain out of the attic space.
