Sometimes nothing happens when I turn the key

Small accessory ground underneath both main grounds?

 

This was the one that came stock with the truck. I cleaned it when I put a new battery in.

 

I'll adjust the order and clean the grounds.

Driven the truck on 3 different errands this evening with no issue. It makes me think the ground isn't the problem. This isn't a repeatable recurring problem. Happens out of the blue for no apparent reason and not often.

What I did notice is that when I open the door I get the "Door ajar" graphic on the dash. That didn't come on earlier today when I had the issue.

 

That is not stock. I would suggest if you don't use it, get rid of it. They can be problematic. They are great on something that gets stored a lot but not on something that doesn't.

So no door ajar display, no lights, no beeps... nothing. Do you have remote entry? If so did you use it? Or the key? This all would make me believe there is connection issue with the battery. I would be making sure the rats nest of wires on the positive are secure and the ground is clean and secure.

 

I'll pull that off as I don't store it. I bought the truck off my mom and it came that way when they bought it from the dealer in Montana.

I used the key FOB to unlock the door and not the physical key. It beeped and unlocked then essentially shut down (this is the same thing that's happened prior as the truck has always been locked) and correct on no door ajar display, no lights, no beeps... nothing. It just happens very randomly and not at any repeatable interval.

All the positive wires are secure and the ground is clean and secure, just verified that. When I changed batteries I cleaned up up the terminals and the clamps. I'm planning on putting a aux fuse box in at some point to clean up the mess of wires.

 

This bit of info describes a poor connection to the battery. I have seen it quite regularly on various vehicles and the fix is almost always battery terminals. Either the connection to the battery or the connection from the terminal to the battery cable.

 

So I replaced the terminals and put on the SDHQ Billet terminals (https://sdhqoffroad.com/products/sd...minal-upgrade-kit?_pos=2&_sid=f7b247a65&_ss=r) on about a month ago.

No more issues since so the guys saying it was the long term storage negative terminal are right.
