Pretty sure it’s 12 years from date of first use.
Date of first use, is the day it was first sold/leased.
You’re likely about 1 out of warranty.

If I were you I'd head to the Toyota Canada website and put your VIN in. It will tell you the DOFU (date of first use) and any info you need.

I think the frame for these is around 5k but I could be off considering how much everything else has gone up. I don’t know how many hours it pays to change a frame on one of our trucks but I would think you would have at least another 5k in labor possibly more.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Interested to see it in timelapse? It's pure insanity. First time I heard about and saw this video, I was blown away. It's a hella load of work! To pay out of pocket I could only imagine way more than your truck would be worth...but IDK for sure.

Check this out when you have a little time to watch it...

Whoever sold that to you is a real piece of work. They knew that frame was bad. It's not just a little bad that's outright dangerous. I hope you get one but toyota doesn't seem to budge if its time frame is up.

You guys got a lemon law up there? Hell i would take that shitbox right back. They knew what they were selling. My work two years ago used to do 8-10 frames a week, ive seen it all. IIRC toyota has a website that you can sign up for that will tell you if its in or out of warranty. Unsure about Canada, but our place is up to late 09-2010 for frames in MA, anything under that is scrap. I will tell you that there is a company that sells a boxed frame section repair kit, obviously youll pay out of pocket to get is professionally welded in but its better than the frame breaking. MY friend already got his 05 repaired with that kit and it looks quite good. That kit should cover up to where yours is rotted at. Look near the muffler area on both sides of the frame rails as well where it is C channel, delamination can get REALLY bad with these trucks.

    From Toyota Canada

Have the frame of your Subject Vehicle inspected free of charge at a Toyota Dealer to determine whether your Subject Vehicle’s frame should be replaced. If the inspection shows that your Subject Vehicle’s frame should be replaced, an authorized Toyota Dealer will replace the frame, at no cost to you. You can take your Subject Vehicle into a Toyota Dealer as of July 21, 2018. The warranty enhanced frame corrosion coverage is offered until the later of 12 years from the date of first use or until July 21, 2019.

For sure, people generally just assume that Tacomas are awesome but the frame thing is bad.
Check with some good 4x4 shops near you about welding the frame. You’re not the first person to have a rotted frame
What area do you live in ?
