What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

If the springs are mounted correctly check with ICON. They used to make a sway bar relocation kit for around $40. I am searching for a new or low mileage 3rd gen Off Road spring/strut set for my 2008 Off Road so I am following your progress. The new springs probably help reduce body roll but I would want to keep it on a daily driver. There are also extended sway bar end links that may fix it.

 

Been a little busy. Here are 2 new upgrades: running boards and (Firestone Destination LE3) tires.

People around here fixate on the color dots for trying to figure out which side the coils go on, but for a set of factory takeoffs that have never been disassembled the bottom line is the lower end of the coil springs always face the rear.

Started the winch and bumper install today, going to finish up with the wiring and reinstall the grill tomorrow. Merry Christmas to me !!!

 

Does this help the release/engagement point feel lower down or what would you say the main difference is drivability wise?

 

Installed a SPEC stage 2+ clutch, URD lightweight flywheel, URD TOB, & rear main seal. The new pedal feel is much lighter than my old URD stage 3 which is nice.

Looks good man! I've got one being painted right now, can't wait for it. Seen a guy who took a 3rd gen hood scoop and stuck it on a 2nd gen, and this looked similar at first glance so I had to ask haha

My flat Off Road hood has lost the clear coat. I keep saying I will paint it, because the rest is fine, but I keep holding off with the hopes of finding and painting a scooped hood instead.

 

I would say it just makes it more consistent. It was pretty inconsistent before and I’ve driven standards my whole life. This makes it feel like how they used to be. I installed a stage 2 clutch and this was a must for sure after that.

 

Second set of 285/70-17's Nitto Ridge Grapplers went on tonight. I got 48,857 out of the last set I put on in 2017. I probably could of got more out of them but got lazy few rotations. I think they are a pretty good tire and have done everything I have asked of them. Pictures in the morning. Discount @ Clackamas was hopping all day today. They close at 6pm and they all stayed to finish all the cars there till 8PM (or later) that's when I picked up my truck. They were still waiting on others and working in the bays to finish the rest of the rigs.

 

Awesome!!!! I have the same one in my garage to install after Xmas. Easy-peasy install or PITA? Did you remove the bumper or just the lower valance?
