Hope everyone is having a safe morning. I have a 4 mile trip to work and saw 2 accidents. The second was a multi car, the main vehicle I saw was a silver Tacoma with a topper. Front smashed to hell so I'm guessing its going to be in a junk yard soon. :sorry:

My sliders are looking pretty rough right now. I've have them on for 3 years now so I figured I would have to have them stripped and re-powder coated at some point. Anyone have a suggestion for a place to get them sand blasted and resprayed? I live in the north suburbs so the closer the better but I will drive for a good place.

Just take a drive down 35 and let the sand blast them for you. I dont have any actual advise though on where to go.

I had some nFab hoop steps and they lasted about 3 years before they were rusted all to hell. I sold them to a guy that welded them to his giant Dodge diesel. I've got some OEM 3rd gen aluminum steps on the way.

You could steel brush them and spray on some bed liner yourself? Cheaper that way.

This is my fear with getting a steel bumper. My truck had steel nfabs on when I bought it that were already rusting. I went with the oem aluminum side steps because of it.

Same here. I waited until I found the perfect rear bumper in aluminum, got the aluminum steps, now I am just waiting for a nice chunk of money to pass my way to order the victory 4x4 aluminum front bumper. I dont need the strength of steel when I am just a mall crawler.

You all realize that aluminum also corrodes?

I've been looking hard at the SSO tube bumper, love the style and look. I wish there was an aluminum option for it but there's not.

Not as easy at steel does. Also when aluminum oxidized it creates a protective layer so it doesnt get worse, steel rusts and flakes off getting worse.
