I've only towed some quads so far (about 1700lbs total), but I'm open to towing anything even if it's over my 6k rating. Would love a 21-23' CC at some point, most of which come in around 5500-6500+ so I'll report back once I do it.

My wife and I are picking up our x3 in July. The waiting is difficult to say the least.

The wait is rough but worth it. We ordered in Dec 2020.

Hopefully the shipping situation improves by then. Our trailer was supposed to arrive in August (based on when it went into the container in Australia) but it didn't arrive in Oklahoma until the beginning of November. The container ended up sitting in Colombia for nearly 6 weeks.

Oh, don't tell me that. Ours is supposed to arrive in July, and I really hope the shipping delays are over before then. On the bright side, picking it up in Oklahoma in November was surely nicer than picking it up in August, at least as far as weather goes.

@Papadog, weather was nice in the southwest but it screwed up our planned route on return home through the mountains in CO & UT...we had to stay closer to hwy40. We also originally planned to spend 2 weeks coming back but couldn't make that happen with the later pickup. We crammed the 3,600 mile round trip into a week and were driving 8 hour days with the exception of the day we picked it up when we only spent 3 hours in the truck.

Not sure what you've towed with your truck but the Patriot feels like it was built to go with the Tacoma. It was much less tiring to tow than our larger trailer and it seems to have great manners on and off road.

@stickyTaco, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the road trip you wanted when you picked it up. We have the same kind of trip planned when we get ours for our return to southern AZ. Here's hoping we can keep those plans.

I've not towed anything but a small 5'x8' utility trailer with mine, but the Patriot is only about 1/2 of the rated towing capacity so I'm not worried.

Just got my Taco December 1st, and picked up our new Taxa Mantis on December 21st. It weighs just under 3,000 lbs dry. I was surprised how hard the Taco worked to tow 65 mph on the highway.

I wonder if a softopper would significantly improve your aerodynamics. That’s a really flat square wall behind you.

Maybe it would. It’s pretty low, I think 82” tall. If I was sure it would be an improvement, I’d do a full on fiberglass topper.

I find that if I put my taco in s6 it hunts for gears far less.

Bought this camper about a month ago. Weighs about 2200 lbs. Plan to use it when we camp and wheel on the beaches of N.C. Campers have come a long way since I was a kid. Lots of nice accessories.

I ran mine in S5 part of the time, and S4 most of the time. Any hill, any wind, and it was shifting.

2021 Winnebago Micro Minnie. 22'/4300lbs dry. Did a 10 day trip to Acadia last year. She did quite well, but its apparent that this summer's trip to CO will be enough of a challenge to make some upgrades. Installing 4.88's in July and a Maggie in a couple weeks.
