Been looking around at electric scooters, from a few hundred to a few K. Finally decided to purchase one and ordered a Varla eagle one, it was about middle of the road pricing at $1500. with dual motors and decent suspension.

Should be here on the 26th, damn fast shipping. Most likely replace the bars & tires with something more off road ready. I’m no spring chicken at 57, but still bike ride and am in fairly good shape.

I’ll order a helmet and will start off slowly : )

Any other electric scooter riders ?

That Varla Eagle One sounds like an awesome choice! $1500 for dual motors and decent suspension is a sweet deal, and that fast shipping is the icing on the cake! Props for keeping the adventure alive at 57 – age is just a number, right? Thinking about making it more off-road ready is a cool idea. Any tips for someone eyeing their first electric scooter?

Figure out your fore/aft balance at low speeds. It's not like riding a bike. You kinda gotta re-learn how to do it.

I have a "high" hp gas scooter that I used for getting around the track paddock. It'll do 50+mph and I've been thrown off it a few times.

It's a lot of fun, but treat it with respect.

Interested to hear from you once you have some miles on it! I've been thinking of getting something myself

Rode the crap out of it, crazy fast and a blast to ride, but will toss your ass off in a blink. Mainly used after dark on bike paths for 9+ mile trips, battery was about 50%+ after the runs, but I was hard on the gas…

Single motor runs at first, then dual and then ramped up the speed control….#*%, at top speed it’s very sketchy. Sold it after a year, I was going to hurt myself eventually : ) No issues with the scooter at all.

I’m an old school bike park rider, back in the days of no helmets, was very lucky back then, know your limits and have fun.

PS, my new scooter, traded in the Tacoma a few weeks back.
