Long story long. While putting in new headlights in my truck (sitting for months and not topping of the AGM battery) I got everything hooked up and noticed nothing came on when I turned the key to ignition.

Thought I popped a fuse. Spent half a flippin' hour checking all the fuses then had a grand idea. Hooked jumpers to a spare battery and everything works. The agm in the truck ran down to 9.4A.

Swapped batteries and brought the near dead one inside and recharged it. Actually, I brought all batteries inside and topped them off and will now keep them inside.

Just reminds me of my grandfather that put his smaller batteries in the freezer thinking they extended their life.

Really can't think of much more that will kill a battery than freezing cold temps. Now my wife is asking why all these batteries are in the house.

Really should have prefaced this with "I Fucking Hate Batteries!" I'm about to explode like a cheap lithium ion in a Samsung phone.

A good battery tender might be a worthwhile investment in your situation.

I've got two of those and use neither one. :( I've got so many bad battery stories I could write a thesis.
