    Hello,

I recently purchased the Auxbeam 8 Gang Led Switch Panel kit Automatic Dimmable Universal(One-Sided Outlet) Blue, and installed it in my 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab.

All went well except for the red accessory wire to power the switch panel. I used the supplied add a fuse and plugged into the 7.5A ECU-ACC fuse inside the cab (driver's side kick panel fuses). The switch panel receives power but the radio doesn't work. I replaced the original Toyota fuse and removed the add a fuse and the radio resumed working.

I tried several other ignition source fuses, but the same thing happened. The switch panel would work (backlighting works), but the accessory that was sharing the fuse would not work. There are no blown/popped fuse. I also tried several different amperage fuses.

I currently have the switch panel tapped into the USB fuse (using the supplied add a fuse) and the switch panel is working when the ignition is on, but I have no power to the USB port in the center console storage area.

Please advise on a solution or assist me in identifying my error(s).

I don't right now. I can take a few when I get home tonight.

Accessory red wire runs from the Auxbeam box mounted under hood through the grommet in the firewall. Add a fuse is crimped and heatshrinked near inside fuse block then the fuse is plugged into the fuse slot and the added fuse is in the provided slot on the add a fuse.

The switch panel is a solid state device any reversed wiring will damage it. How is it wired to your fuse panel?

Reading that company website it says it can draw 60 amps, I’d recommend connecting right to the battery with its own fuse.

Duh...I did not add the other fuse to the add a fuse. I knew I overlooked something.

Thank you Whatstcp. My first post on Tacoma World and you've already helped me out.

The main fuse block is wired directly to the battery with an inline circuit breaker, and the negative wire is grounded to the vehicle chassis where the battery is grounded.

The smaller gauge red wire is just the accessory wire that supplies the switch and backlighting power to the switch panel inside.

Gotcha, I guess i misunderstood how you were wiring it. Sounds like you got it straightened out though. Make sure you put the add a fuse in the right slot if you are using a fuse of a different rating to power the switch panel.

Not to bring up an old/resolved thread, but I’m curious what the difference is between the one sided and two sided models of this switch panel. Anyone know? I’m just not sure what that’s referring to and I can’t see anywhere that the company mentions what that means.

In the picture is the only difference I believe.

So basically the leads just come out one side versus both?

Yes from what I can see. That's the only difference between the 2.

When I ordered mine, I looked at both. I decided that the two sided fuse panel was probably a better solution because it seemed like the wiring would be less cramped. I'd rather have 4 wire pairs coming from each side rather than trying to neatly organize 8 wire pairs all on one side.

Either way, you'll be happy with either. The quality is great, and it's way better than I expected for a discount panel and fuse block.

Quikfix seat risers and lic plate mount, MESO interior and stage 1 tails, glove box and console dividers, shelf for center console, FACTOR 55 hitch link, TC bed stiffeners, OE bed mat,
Use the P/OUTLET fuse. It runs the power outlet and isn't tied into anything that will cause problems. It's hot in ACC and ON.
