Buried my 2017 in the snow tonight. The slip control powered me down as i went busting through the berm and hosed me. (I miss my stick shift in my 2001.) Used crawl control to no avail and end up digging it out. Snow's a few feet deep right now. Rocked it out for the final part and something in the left front popped pretty loud. now it's making a seizing/metal pop noise when 4x4 is engaged every few feet as I drive. If i put it in 2x it seems to drive fine. Hub? Axel? FML.

My guess would be a broken axle . Axles are the weakest link when using 4x4 .
Get all 4 wheels off the ground , select 4x4 and begin the diagnosis . Do this safely mind you .
Do you have manual locking hubs on that critter ?
