Alpha Rex headlights on 2017 TRD

Question for you guys that might have installed Alpha Rex Nova headlights on a 3rd generation 2017 TRD Sport Tacoma. When I made the purchase I was told that all TRD models needed a additional module to work correctly. So my headlights arrived with no instructions and a separate smaller box containing the module that looks like it’s made to power the Nova DRLs from what I can see. My 2017 has the factory DRLs and upon installing the headlights I’m not absolutely sure that I even need the module and if so what is it’s function?
Really don’t want to power up a expensive set of headlights and see them go up in smoke. Thanks for any advice you may give.

 

I believe you don’t need the module only the TRD harness which should be included when you purchased the lights
I had it on my 2017 TRD sport and it was plug and play

I have since swapped them out for the morimoto amber drl ones . I had no issues with the alpharex ones. I believe alpharex is soon to have there amber drl version out soon .
