    Hi all,

I am not planning on lifting my truck anytime soon, but wondering what would be better? Any thoughts?

    My 2 cents..

Depends on you and your driving habits. Do you off road ever? If no it would probably be safe to say running boars would suffice and generally are significantly less expensive. Sliders are nice, it can protect you on and off road in certain situations, though comes at a cost of (1)added weight (2) expensive. I've used my sliders all of 2 times or so, but real glad I had them each time! I added my sliders before lifting or doing any modifications to my truck too (fwiw)

Sliders if you’re going to off road.
    Steps if you aren’t.

If you are not off roading and have no physical restrictions entering or exiting the truck, you don't 'need' either one.

If you add steps, and ever offroad in a semi harsh environment, you'll likely throw the steps away and buy sliders.

My suggestion would be to consider discreet looking sliders that can function as steps.

Budget not big enough for that? Keep saving till it is. Instant gratification is overrated.

I have no issue with getting in or out, my in-laws, mom and wife and have some difficulty getting in or out. So I am looking for discreet sliders for just in case.

I had the Raptor tube steps/nerf bars on my 17. They're like $300. They were good for getting out when there was puddles/mud etc. They saved my ass in parking lot where they used a boulder to stop you from driving over the grass and i cut the corner too much. Would have hit my door if i didn't have the bar there to block it. Might be a good inexpensive option to look into and then you can upgrade to sliders later if you think you need them.

I did the boulder thing on my brand new 1992 F150 regular cab shortbed and my 1985 Ranger RC. Sliders kept me out of the body shop this time, 1225210700a.jpg but I do live in a rocky environment here in az.
