Any idea what your caster is? Is it as steering as stable on the highway?

I appreciate everyone's help on here! New SPC UCAs were already a part of my order as my mechanic already warned me that my current stock UCAs are just about shot both in the ball joint and the bushings. I figured I would bite the bullet now rather then later. I also contacted a Toyota dealership in regards to the TSB on the leaf springs. The rep informed me that yes I could bring the truck in for the TSB, but this is a job you want to do correctly and 150K mile leafs already have so much wear that adding an AAL is possible, but could lead to premature failure as the AALs are built and specked to new stock leaf springs, not leafs that have already begun sagging. He then gave me multiple options including buying used leafs from here, getting a new set with whatever lift kit I end up with, and (what shocked me) get custom leafs made. He claimed that I could get them build specifically for my truck at the exact height I want and it might cost less than buying pre-made off the shelf. I will probably just get ones that come in a lift kit as its just easier for a one click purchase, but it is something to look into. Again, thanks for everyone's help and input.

I’ll see if I can find my most recent alignment specs. Steering is fine. If you don’t mind, send me a dm to make sure I don’t forget.

This is my 05. It has an one 2 inch heavy kit. With the Dakar in the rear. I took the 3rd leaf out to get a better ride out of the rear springs. I put spc ucas. The whole thing with an alighnment will run you about 2k. I am currently running the 265/75r16 ko2s. No loss of power and drives good. Averaging about 17mpg on hwy. Hope this helps my stock suspension was worn out also. I have around 167k on the clock.

Typo old man emu nitro charger heavy kit. You will not get your alighnment correct without ucas this was before the lift.

@ Aaron4wd, when you say 2" heavy, are you talking about the OME Heavy Leaf Springs in the rear?

Yes I purchased the extra capacity front and rear. Old man emu. You came take the third leaf from the top out of the new leaf packs before installing the rear springs. This will give you a medium capacity spring. I did not need the extra capacity springs in the rear because. I'm not adding a topper or tent etc. If you aren't going to run a bumper and winch just order the medium load kit. You will still need ucas because of the alighnment issue. I tried getting it aligned with out. It wouldn't line up to toyota spec.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I ran my 285s with no CMC or pinch weld smash for a couple weeks while I was waiting to go into the shop to get the work done. On Pavement no issues, I did have Icon UCA’s and a wheel alignment to help with wheel placement and around a 2 inch lift, SCS wheels with -10 offset. I did cut/trim plastic but it’s nothing crazy. Avg 17/18 mpg comb.

I had to replace my rear leafs as my TSB leafs had 100k miles on them, and were negative arching. So I replaced with OME EL111r 2” lift springs. I currently have Bilstein 5100 all around with the front 1 notch from bottom at 1” of lift. It’s got some rake for sure.

Why did I type that? Stock UCAs are garbage with this. Road wander is awful, and I’ve got a death grip on the wheel at speed. I noticed you’re getting SPC UCAs, perfect. I plan on some Camburg’s come tax refund. But I will agree to many here, UCAs are a MUST when lifting. (Written for those who come after you)

OP. Consider. Any lift will have negative impact on fuel efficiency, lower mpg more fuel being used. Bigger tires will also have negative impact fuel efficiency.

If fuel usage is a concern, then stay with the stock height and stock tires.

Remember, if you do lift, the lift does not make the wheel well bigger. It only raises the wheel well.
