I lifted my truck back in 2015. It has held up fairly well due to being on pavement most of the time. I hate that I essentially cannot tow or haul anything with it and am extremely conflicted as I regret getting this lift installed. I want to start doing things myself and learning but when it comes to this I have no idea where to begin.

I tried to haul some gravel a few years back (900lbs) and it completely destroyed the rear shocks making it look like it had a carolina lean. Luckily RC replaced them free of charge under warranty.

    My main questions are:

    1. At this point, with this lift being installed, what options do I have for better suspension/control arms/etc? Can a different system on the front end be installed?

    2. Would Bilstein 5100's or other rear shocks be compatible?

    3. Would adding a leaf be worth while?

    4. Is there a way to bring back my payload/hauling capabilities?

    5. Is it true that the stock rims will no longer fit on this system?

    6. Would coilover shocks/any other system be compatible in the front?

Basically, I feel limited with this silly lift that I got when I was younger, and am looking for advice, knowledge and direction.

    Thanks!

1: Drop brackets heavily depend on the shock used. A full coil over with no spacer rides noticeably better than a giant spacer on a stock shock.

2: 5100's are compatible but will be strained and over worked.

    3. Most DB lifts are spacers and add-a-leafs. Do you only have a giant block in the back? I would still say the leaf is too old and you'd be better off getting new pack.

    4. Rear springs in the rear are all you need to restore hauling. Giant spacers are bad for towing/hauling.

    5. Most DB lifts change the knuckle and you need to use 17" rims

    6. Yes. There are coil over choices but they get $$$$$$$$$

Take a picture of your front shock and rear springs to help us guide you.

The rear shocks are rough country n2.0s. I am thinking these shocks are the reason the hauling is so bad. However, is there a best of both worlds between being capable hauling wise and ride (offroading) wise? -- Obviously would not be excellent at both of course.

I definitely would not be against getting new leafs all together. The fact that this lift required cutting in the front is what makes me feel like this lift is irreversible and limited.

Okay I will take some pics!

Sorry GTA in progress.... I am in need with this same problem. 2017 4x4 OR. Here are some photos. I purchased new Dobinson Medium/Heavy 111r leafs for the rear. This leaf claims a 2.1" lift and plan to replace the 4¼" block with a 2" block. I'm at a loss of what to do with the 4" spacer in the front. I am aware that bilstien makes a extended travel 5100 for the front and rear on the old RCD bracket lifts that were for the previous model Tacoma but what is keeping it from being used for mine? I saw some 6" fox options on another website but jeez they are alot of $$$$. Please help
