Hello gang, new here and my second post.

Tires have always confused me. Just don't make sense to me or something. For years I've never understood how to put it all together in my head.

I've learned a lot lurking this forum for the past few day, searching and reading but still don't understand something.

So I purchased a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. It has the stock tires on it which are the 265/70-R16's. I understand that I can go to the 265/75-R16 without a problem and that gets me about an inch in height. My understanding from searching is I can go to 255/85/R16's but it requires adjustments to be made. I don't know for sure what that means. I found one article, off-site that shows they had to cut a little plastic off in a couple places from withinside the fender well but that was on some 17" 33's. In that article it wasn't bad and I don't mind doing something simple that doesn't show.

So does anyone know what is meant by "adjustments need made" if I go with the 255/85's?

Like a lot of other people, I am trying to get as big as I can without doing a lift but I don't want issues. I don't mind putting a 2 or 3 inch leveling kit on it but there seems to be a lot controversy over if that will void parts of the warranty if Toyota isn't involved with the lift which I won't be doing because of cost that I looked up having toyota involved.

Thanks for any guidance on what is meant by "adjustment must be made" or anything else someone would like to enlighten me.

Sorry if my specific issue has been addressed somewhere. I did put forth quite a bit of effort before bothering you guys on here.

    Thanks,

    Dan
