Hey folks - I am not able to find much information on whether it is okay to go wheeling/off roading with (wheelers if that matters) 1.5" progressive AAL with overload left in? I noticed that this was designed with the intent of removing the overload... So should I expect to run into any issues if I leave the overload in while offroading?

No. The limiting factor would be the shock travel allowed.

The stock Toyota leaf packs are shit. You will be happy in the long run by just getting rid of them.

If your budget can swing it, look into deaver springs.

I have the Wheeler's progressive AAL with the overload left in + aftermarket shocks and it does fine off-road. The stock leafs are pretty meh though.

Thanks! I am now set on just installing the AAL and swap them out within a year. Mechanic said similar thing as you, as long as I don't go rock crawling I should be good

I dont understand the deaver fanboy-ism on this site.
Ive had them, they sucked, flatten out way too fast.

    Custom built is best.

But, limiting factor of the overload leaf, in my experience, is always banging it on rocks. So, do your aal or whatever and remove it i say.

Alcan would be my first stop for any custom leaf springs. That being said, I've been to 3 star rates trails with the aal + overload and didn't have a single issue with clearance or flex.

Same here, I've been off-roading and crawling with my progressive AAL and overload and never had an issue. Most of the time it's with a bed load of gear too. Still gives me clearance and capacity overstock of course.

Guess it depends on where you live. But rocks on PA trails always seemed to want to jump right into the overload.

if you are hitting the overload leaf on rocks, you need to reconsider your line lol.

You are perfectly fine and better off with the overload left in on the stock pack for sure.
