I am a new member here, hello! I am located in northern California and I am wanting some recommendations input from ya'll.

Here is the deal, I bought a 2008 2.7 4WD tacoma with 275k miles. It is currently sitting at 300k and it is drinking up about 1 quart of oil per 500 miles. It turns oil jet black about at 1k miles after an oil change. It is also wet around where the transfer case is. In all honesty, I have only changed the oil, spark plugs and injectors since I bought it. I would like to keep it for a while, primarily as a hunting rig and want to do maintenance on it.

Do you any of you have any recommendations as to someone that can do a complete overhaul on the engine, an honest mechanic? It does not have to be in a garage I am okay with someone that can do it from home.

I am a Spanish teacher and soccer coach in Williams, CA so getting the truck someone would have to be on the weekend or late on a weekday.

    Thank you and God bless.
