Started planning for Lift Install

I'll be installing my lift on Saturday. I consider it to be my first mod for 2022.

But first I had to get the skid plate off the truck. Normally not a big deal but in my case it was. I have the plow mount on the front of the truck and it was in the way. Even getting the front two bolts on the skid plate were a PITA to get out. The plow mount cross beam was right below them.

I removed the 4 bolts that are used to install the plow mount on the front lower part of the frame. And then loosened the nuts that are on the main frame of the truck. I didn't remove the nuts from the upper part of the frame cause I'm really not sure how the hell they got the bolts in the frame. They didn't go through the frame. I figured I would be able to lower the mount down which would allow me to remove the skid plate. But my luck the mount would only go down around 1/4 to 3/8 inch and I still could not get the skid plate off.

So out came the Dremel with metal cutting round disc's.


I'll run without a skid plate for now. I have a CaliRasied skid plate on order.

At least now I can proceed with installing my lift on Saturday. Eibach Pro-Truck 2.0 (Front and Rear) and Dreaver AAL.
