I really like Falken Wildpeak AT/3’s especially in the snow!! Went from a 265/65-17 to a 265/70-17 a little over an inch difference. No complaints from Chicago when we got 18” of snow dumped on us Mon-Tues

I have yet another update to my set of GO15's.

So last week we got 11" of snow. The temps quickly rose over a day or so and by the end of the week the roads were covered in a layer of super soupy slick thick slush anywhere from 1-2" deep all the way up to several inches deep. Last weekend the back roads were a sloppy soggy slushy mess. A few inches of slush over a few inches of very soft wet dirt. While most folks were slipping and sliding all over the place, I was sure footed as a mountain goat. I mostly drove in 2wd but did switch to 4wd as a precaution in some spots. I never NEEDED 4wd EVER in this 11" snow storm. These very boring to look at tires punch above their weight class.

Ended up ordering a set of these to run on my stock OR wheels in a 265/75/16 for the time being... excited to get these on and test them on the trail

I'm ready to try mine on the trail too. So far, I'm very pleased with them on the road. I hear no road noise compared to my last set of ATs.

Ya'll worry too much. As long as it's not offroading to an extreme, they will do just fine.

Has anyone experienced any rubbing? Thinking of putting a set on my 2021 offroad. In a 265/75 on the stock 16 rims. Just want to make dead sure they clear everything since its about an inch taller tire

Its only a 1/4” or so closer to the fender than a 265/70. I have pro wheels and the 75s clear the oem mudflaps.

Just put these on today and drove all but ~50mi on them and wow, this tire is legit. Even my brother was like wow, they ride so smooth and soft, hardly any road noise too

Great tire for the money imo

Now do some reasonable offroading. I'll bet you will still like them.

So I'm driving home on Saturday night. It's raining and it's dark (no street lights) and it's through a construction zone. There is a dip in the road and the drainage is clearly blocked; however, I didn't see that until I was about 3 feet in front of it. I hit the puddle (a.k.a. lake) at ~40 miles an hour. Took my foot off the gas and just focused on keeping the truck straight.

I never felt like I lost control or hydroplaned at all. Truck lost a lot of momentum and water was rushing over the hood for about a half second. The Geolandars performed admirably in a very unexpected situation that could have been a lot worse.

Edit: I knew conditions were less than ideal. I was in 4HI as a precaution.

I replaced my worn out BFG All-Terrains with Geolandar A/T G015's last year. Not as aggressive as the BFGs and not as good in the mud but more comfortable on the highway and much better in rain, snow and ice. We get a lot of rain and snow in this part of Canada so the trade off in performance was worth it for me. It is definitely lacking in the cool factor unfortunately.

    LOL. This.

I'm in the same boat though. Very pleased with the road handling characteristics. Plus, no one can see the tread blocks when you are at driving speed!

I am about to replace my 10-ply 265/75 G015 with the same ones. They have just over 50,000 miles at this point.

The traction on these tires is very good, right up until they turn into slicks. I don’t do any tough off-road driving, just dirt and gravel roads, but even on the snotty ones, I don’t need 4wd very often.

I have them in a 31x10.5x15 and they are great all around. Grip is solid on dry pavement, rain, snow, mud, gravel, sand. Quiet and last a long time. Would buy the ATs again. Actually just bought the Geolandar MT for my other wheel/tire setup

I've had the SL G015s on my '16 4Runner and now the LT Wildpeak AT3W on '21 my Tacoma. I don't off road much but concern is for rain and stopping in snow/ice.

With my experience, I feel the Geolanders are better for the scenario above but also being I'm a truck vs SUV and SL vs LT-rated likely factors in here.

I love the look of the Wildpeaks but does anyone have experience with both tires on the same vehicle? Which do you prefer for winter and rain driving?

(Side note, had the Pirelli Scorpion Winters on a Cayenne GTS and that hands down was a beast in the snow, then again, they were high performance dedicated winter tire. I still prefer the Taco over the Porsche surprisingly, but I really wish I was baller to have kept both. If anyone has a sport SUV, I recommend them but treadwear wouldn't be as good)
