    Happy New Year everyone.

    Santa was good to me, and now I have some work to do.

    Since I'm going to be removing the springs, I figured I'd look into the u-bolt flip too. Most have a 3/8" plate, but some have a 1/4" plate. Is the heavier plate required/worth the $80 difference in price?

    Heavier is usually better. Think about this for a sec. Do you want to do this again? Likely not. If you think you need stronger than you likely do. Get the parts you’ll be happy with. That will give you plenty of time to spray all fasteners with some penetrating oil. You did that already. Right?

    Yes, the Fox Shocks are slightly extended travel. They are the 985-24-117's. The springs are the Headstrong AAL, with a 1/2" block to make them 2" lift. Not sure if I'll use it or just leave the overload spring in. The GM Bumps are the same as yours, and the DuroBumps are for the front.

    I found the all pro kit to be the best bang for the buck. It will all work the same.

    Yes, I agree, I don't want to do it twice, I'm just wondering if the extra 1/8" is necessary. $80 is better in my pocket than theirs. I will pay it if it is necessary.

    Yes, I have sprayed already and will be again before I actually start. I hope it will be enough. I really don't want any broken bolts.

    AllPro kit has been upgraded since what @tacoma16 has. apparently you can bolt on bumps directly to it in some style. (which effectively looks identically to the Durobump plates without the bent edges in them.
    @cwisema
    see: So if the GM bumps arn't to your liking, then you can upgrade them without a hassle

    There's no benefit to the 1/4" plate. In fact, being much thicker than the top leaf, it may be detrimental and encourage stress cracks in the leaf right at the edge of the plate, because of the abrupt stiffness change.

    So, you think the thinner 1/4" plate would be better than the 3/8" plate?
