    Mud Flap install video
I can't believe that mud flaps no longer come standard on all TRD models...
The Rek Gens are more flexible than the OEM's and don't get snagged when backing over rocks and stumps in the woods.
NOTE: I did install the long spacers on the front flaps and short spacers on the rear flaps unlike what Rek Gen recommends. The flaps looked crooked and stretched with the longs in back and shorts in front. No rubbing issues.

    Grille with sensor install video
Nice grille. It's nearly identical to the factory Pro grille. The lettering is held on by screws instead of double sided tape. I did add the recommended washer to tilt the sensor upward. Multiple long rides using the active cruise with no issues.

3rd Gen Tacoma Grille Lights Add-a-Fuse Install
The white raptor lights are brighter than I expected and match the factory LEDs. They are wired to the head lamp circuit. Other drivers don't seem to like them at night.
NOTE: There's NO need to cut holes in the fuse panel to add a circuit. There's a door in the back corner with plenty of space, but be careful to not pinch wires when closing.

Air Spring & Wireless Compressor Install - July 12 2021

Works great for hauling wood and smaller motorized toys. The rear sits ~3/4" higher than factory at 10 psi. Fills to 100 psi in ~2.5 minutes

The install took the better part of a weekend. A majority of the time was spent pulling wire and founding a place to mount the compressor. The frame is already jam packed with factory electronic and pneumatics. I ended up mounting the compressor to the carbon bed then grounding to the frame.
I did not cut the factory rubber stops as the instructions call for. Removed them instead.

Rim and TPS swap by Greentree Toyota service - July 16 2021 @ 700 miles

17" TOYOTA TRD PRO WHEELS MATTE BLACK FOR 4RUNNER FJ CRUISER TACOMA OEM - TOYOTA (PTR20-35110-BK)
These were a close 2nd: TOYOTA TRD 17" 6 SPOKE NEW STYLE FLAT BLACK WHEEL OEM PTR56-89210-F2 - TOYOTA (PTR56-89210-F2

    Long story short:
I had the Greentree Toyota Service team unmount the factory Toyo A30 Open Country tires and TP sensors, then remount them on a set of brand new matte black 17”x7” TRD Pro 4Runner rims.

I'm happy with the outcome but, what a PITA..
I was quoted $199, but charged $285 in total. Can't complain because it took the service team 9hrs and $140 in parts to complete the job. We both learned stuff about the new trucks that day.

    Wheel swap fun facts:
    • The OEM 17” x 7.5” 4261104200 TRD Sport rim MSRP's for $530 plus $60 for the center cap.
    • 17” x 7” PTR20-35110-BK Pro 4Runner rim MSRP's for $235 center cap included.
    • I got a new set of PTR20-35110-BK shipped to the house for $770 from BAM wholesale.
    • The factory black valve stems on the new tire pressure sensors are not reusable like the old sliver stems.
    • New stems (~$80) and TPS recalibration ($125) are required to transfer to new rims.
    • Rim swap by Toyota service should cost 3 hrs labor; new valve stems; TPS calibration.
    • The 4260B-04040 sport center caps are extremely easy to damage/crack. Greentree had to replace one of mine.
    • Always inspect your wheels before and after a shop puts their hands on them.

Aftermarket leather installed by Greentree Toyota - July 24 2021

Factory leather was not an option for the access cab. The cost for the front and rear seats was ~$1,300. I'm super happy with it.
It was a 3 day process, but Greentree provided a loaner taco. Only down side was they had to put 90 miles on the truck.

Another 3 years flew by. My lease ends in June. The truck has ~33k miles.

I'm ready to make it my own. Just ordered the 1TM212-SCI Procharger kit.

    upload_2024-3-17_0-4-45.png

I'll be taking my time and documenting the install here.
My ABS module is on the passenger side. I'm keeping the factory airbox which leads to a few components being shuffled around the engine bay. 1TM212-SCI Install Manual.pdf

The Magnuson PD kit is definitely prettier than the Procharger. I'll be trying to improve fit and finish where possible.

Damn it.. the Procharger install is on hold.

A connecting rod sheared and shot through the block as I was leaving work on the 22nd. My scanner found 3 crank position codes. Oil dipstick is littered with metal.

To add insult to injury, the Procharger kit arrived the next morning in the pouring rain.

I called Procharger. Told them the situation. They will not budge on delaying the 1 year warranty a day passed the delivery date. It would cost me 10% to return the kit with box seal still intact. 12.5% if seal is broken.

FedEx was kind enough to dropped it in a puddle. Carrier damage must be claimed within 5 days. Everything is fine. Components are package nicely.

I'm storing the kit until the truck is fixed and proven.

Okay thanks, hopefully you are covered somehow and made whole again. Please keep us updated. Many here are very interested in these serious types of issues including me.

The truck is still under lease. Greentree has performed all maintenance. They are assuring me it will be warrantied.

Luckily, I was making a left out of the parking lot and traveling uphill. It broke shifting 1st to 2nd. I was able to get the truck turned around on it's own power, confirm that my clutch/trans were fine, and coast back into the work parking lot. It was pretty obvious once I popped the hood. It will still start and run which makes me think the root cause is within that cylinder.

I left the truck at work for the weekend. Called Greentree on Saturday to schedule an appointment. AAA dropped off the wounded warrior and I at the dealer service center on Monday morning (25th). Greentree had me out of there in 30 minutes with a loaner corolla cross hybrid thing.

Warranty approval was supposed to take 2-3 business days. I'm still not approved yet. Hopefully Tuesday.

Later on the 25th, I received a pretty irritating call regarding my A/C drain extension hose: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rust-on-frame-with-a-c-drain-mod-fix.444138/

    I'm paraphrasing:
"We're documenting and taking pictures of the damage. Did you have work done to the A/C system?"
    Me: "Nope."
"We found a rubber hose installed very close to the CPS. The CPS was found unplugged."
Me: "The hose is a well-known fix to correct a factory flaw. What would happen if I tried to drive the truck with the CPS discounted?"
"(Long pause)... The vehicle would not start. No stark or fuel delivery."
Me: "I hope this won't be mentioned again. Thanks."

I'm thinking they scanned for codes which would lead to checking the CPS. Whoever was taking pictures of the damage may have unplugged the sensor harness for clear view to the block from underneath.

Nope. They're still gathering info for the claim. It seemed that they may have started disassembly when I called for an update on Friday. I'm trying to be patient since the service department has been very accommodating.

They gave me a 2023 TRD OR double cab long bed loaner last Monday. I now see why re-gearing is so popular. Also, I'm not a fan of the OEM running boards. I find them to be more in the way than helpful.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Don't see these kinds of failures everyday. However, they do happen unfortunately.

I had a 23 TRD OR DCSB loaner for nearly 2 weeks waiting on my driveshaft to be fixed. I was not enamored with the auto at all. At first I thought it wasn't too bad, but after a day or two I was itching to get my truck back. Hope they fix yours soon and all is well with it when done.
