Qi doesn't work with iPhones? 2020 Tacoma Limited

2020 Limited with iPhone 11 Pro Max, and no issues charging at all.

 

I have the exact same issue as catskills. The phone has to be placed very particularly or else it won’t work. It’s compounded by a new problem recently though, where it heats up to the point of melting the top parts of the charging mat (unsure of official term) that came with the truck. I was using an iPhone 12 mini with a Qi charging compatible case. Even without the case on it happens and the charging mat gets painfully hot to touch. This all transpires after only using it for approximately 10-12 minutes. It doesn’t sound like anyone else has this issue but I will be getting mine looked at.

 

iPhone 8, 2018. No problem.

 

I have a 2019 Tacoma and an iPhone 13 pro. It charged fine until I put the life proof case in it. Now if I need to charge it I have to take the case off

 

iphone 8+ in a thin case and a 2016 OR. I sllde the top right corner of the phone to fit in the corner of the Q-pad pointing to the passenger seat. Works every time. Ok, a real silly question: you have the iphone lying on it's back, right? Just checking. To prevent heating, I turn the Qi charger just long enough to top off the phone.
