    Hi all!
Bought a 2018 Tacoma with the Entune system in it. It’s sounds ok but it would be nicer to have a sub with it. Is there a way to hook up a sub amp & sub to it or would it be better to just install an aftermarket stereo?
    Thanks

Yes and yes. There are harnesses from online retailers that allow for adding an amp. Your options for amps are limited to ones with high level inputs however. Unless you add on a high level converter or something like an Audiocontrol amp, which tends to be pricier. The option of an aftermarket head unit would make installing pretty much any amp possible, as well as improving functionality and sound quality. Only you can decide what’s important.

Just a quick tip if you are going to install a sub with the factory headunit. Use the front speaker wires for your high level inputs, the rears have so little output that your sub will not make much sound.

As a former installer, I want to offer a piece of advice, and I don’t mean this in any negative way

If you find yourself asking these questions, just head to an audio shop and chat with them. This can be a local place, or a big chain like Best Buy or TintWorld

I'ts a long way from an audiophile solution, but the Kicker Hideaway 8" is a popular addition and it fits under the front seat. As was recommended, be sure to wire the inputs into the front speakers for best results. It has its own built-in amp.
