My son has a (please forgive this four-letter word) Ford.
He can preselect whether the heater, defroster or air conditioner is on when he starts his truck with the app.
Is that possible with my 2022 Tacoma TRD Offroad when using either the app or key fob?
With the Toyota documentation being vague I figured it quicker to ask.
    Thanks in advance.

It will do whatever you set it on before you shut the truck off. I try to remember to do it before I get out of I anticipate needing remote start.

I don't think that you can command the HVAC with the key fob or an app. However I don't own a 2022 Tacoma.

Just bought a 2020 and found out I don't have remote start option. I put a compustar in my 2015 and was happy with it but I didn't have push start either. Is there a non Toyota remote starter that works with factory key fob so I don't have to carry two for my truck plus one for my wife's vehicle on my key chain.

If you have a push start it should already have the remote start ability. Just press lock 3x and on the 3rd x hold the button down for 2-3 seconds. My '21 works this way and I did not add remote start to it.

Only downside is Toyota is dumb with their kit, and the truck shuts off when you open the door or unlock the truck... so I don't use it lol.

Yeah I tried that and doesn't work. Called the Toyota dealer and he ran my VIN. Also there is a way to check through Android Auto that tells you on your stereo display. It's a no go.

Do you have this system and if so which one ? The only downfall I see is not being able to open door without engine shutting of our having to use the key. The one with the phone app you have to obviously have your phone with you and it's pricey. They don't say what the range is for the non app models. I guess I can live with restarting the vehicle, just more wear on the starter for a few months out of the year. Thanks!

I just installed the N2 remote start on mine. You can use the OEM keyfob to start or the app if you buy that version. The truck will keep running once you unlock the doors from the keyfob or app and you can put the key in, turn it to on and drive off.
