Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

I see it just fine from the driver seat.

 

They seem to be a poor translation from Chinese... but try this . . .

One would think that after the grab handle fiasco (complete with early investor angst about her delivery priorities) she might have learned a thing or two. Nope. Gonna treat those who forked over their dough early on like shit. Deja f#%^in’ vu.

 

Sad to see that I'm not the only one.

Installed my HUD however it goes dark after 10 seconds. during those ten seconds I can put it into the settings mode and it will stay lit and function normally

Tried Insta, email and now facebook to reach out without any response (figures)

paid with CC so I could always charge back but waiting to see if a solution could be found.

*EDIT* mine is also tuned.

 

I have one coming today that I'll likely try in the OBD port prior to installation. Mine's a "tuned" 2019. I've reached out too...

 

If it doesn't work in your truck maybe you could try it in someone's 2016 or 2017... just to try to confirm the "different harness required" issue affecting newer trucks.

 

The people I did know with 2016/17 traded theirs in for bigger trucks this past year.


I can try to ask random people in the parking lot but assume it would go something like this.

Can you post OBD2 HUD plug color wiring ?

The units that are reporting that they do not work have another type of connector, I do not know if it is too much to ask, could you give a continuation trace of the obd2 pins to the HUD board?

 

I just bought a set of the door handle lights from ktjo last Thursday and got it today…

I didn’t see this thread until just now… yikes.

 

Amazingly, those seems to have been fairly free of issues...as long as she sent you the correct color that you asked for. Hopefully, they'll work out OK.

 

Because you never know when ordering something from KTJO (as I'm still waiting for the correct mounting hardware for my grab handle). This is the only wiring harness it comes with, correct? The one that's already installed on the actual unit.

 

That one are repoted not working but you could never now test it

I haven'tgotten any further communicationfrom them since the "there are issues with the 18+... a new harness is required and is on its way to us" us was not identified.. us us... or them us... (if you've had any dealings with "them"... you will understand.

 

Sorry I'm alittle busy to dissemble the HUD at the moment.
