2021 floor mat, excessive wearing?

Im at 14,XXX on my 21 Taco TRD OR and on my 3rd set of floor mats already due the drivers mat wearing through at the heel rest. Anybody else had an issue with this? I dont wear hard heeled shoes and its never been an issue on any of my other vehicles. Ordered a set of all weather mats because im tired of messing with it but it just seems odd.

 

Weather tech. You wear through those you got a busy leg problem.

 

I’ve had the Toyota all-weather mats for a year and a half and they are wearing well. I assume you’re talking about the carpet mats? I also had WeatherTech mats in my 4Runner for three years without issue.

Jimmy legal. You may need a rock mat instead of a rubber. Landscape it up.

 

I’m assuming you have carpet floor mats? Soil is abrasive, so if you don’t vacuum/clean them often, it doesn’t take much to wear them through.

I recommend husky all weather mats, tough as nails and they are much larger.

 

Get a 4"x 4" piece of sheet metal and duct tape it to the bottom of your mat. Problem solved.

 

Even if they are carpet mats, wearing a hole in three different sets in such a short period of time is crazy man. Would you happen to be a drummer?

 

I have the original mats in my 2005 Pilot with 110k. How have you gone through 3 sets already?!?

You definitely need something heavier duty than the stock mats.

 

I have the Toyota all weather mats in my 2020 with about the same mileage. I have no issues with mine so far. I wear hiking boot, sneakers, work books, and even cowboy boots all the time in the truck. It must be something you do but then again I do think the rubber is thinner than the husky liners I had in my old jeep.

 

It may be that you have a lot of sand/mud on the soles of your shoes/boots and don't knock it of before you plant your feet on the truck's floor.

 

Change into crocs before you drive

 

I have the carpeted mats. I put maybe 25 miles a day on the truck on average. Weathertechs are on order but it just seems crazy to me ive gone through 3 sets already. My carpeted mats in my 2016 looked new at 62k miles. :shrug: Guess Toyota just moved to a cheaper builder for these. Its not mud/sand/soil as I work in a warehouse environment and dont even wear my work shoes home. Just adidas running shoes. If im wearing dress shoes we are generally taking my wifes Infiniti somewhere.

 

Im completely out on crocs. My rubber merrell's are as close as I get and i havent worn them since I sold my boat. Lol.

 

I have oem carpeted mats as well as oem rubber mats for our brutal SoCal winters.
My carpeted mats have worn down a bit after 10k miles but not nowhere near enough to have gone through yet. Just looks a little flat.

 

And then you’ll also be ready for… I dunno, maybe a tea party with the ladies…

I'm at the same mileage on my 2020, and my factory floor mats are still perfect, but dirty right now, and need cleaning.

 

The OEM mats wear out way too quickly. I have mostly had Weathertechs in mine since new, but the OEM "Premium" drivers side mat still has visible wear.
