Does anyone know why when my truck is turned off the headlights turn on for a few minutes then shuts off randomly. Its seems to happen when I have driven the truck that day. I have taken it into the dealership numerous times and they can't seem to figure out what causes this to happen. The truck was brought up to canada from the states and the dealership i got it from put in a switch board type thing that automatically turns on the daytime running lights. this has been replaced three times with no luck. Its an 06. Any ideas?

It might have to do with the dome light or door switch.

No I haven't figured it out yet. Its been to the dealarship a couple of times and they always say there's nothing wrong. If the truck has been driven during the day the lights always come on that night when its parked.

That sounds like some crossed wiring. There is am emissions vent blower that will turn on a few hours after the truck stops running...but that doesn't seem like it would mess with the lights unless someone screwed something up.

I just installed my morimoto XB gen 2 lights today and during a movie, around twilight, the DRLs turned on. Drove the truck around the block with the night time lights on, then turned the truck off. The DRL’s turned off after flipping the lights fully off.

I installed the morimoto xb fog lights at the same time and only the right side fog light would turn on. I had raptor lights would stay on after after turning the truck off as well.

    Somethings off with the installation.

Yea that’s happening with My morimoto lights as well. My DRL would just randomly turn on throughout the day or night. My ground was loose so i tightened it down a bit. Let’s see if that fixes it.

Did you have to wire yours or was it plug and play? I just installed mine the other day and I have had no issues.

Everyone with the morimoto lights, if you used a fuse tap on the efi fuse thats why your lights are turning on. The truck runs a test randomly and it will get power.

Do the lights eventually turn off by itself?

i had the same problem several times..... somebody would say you left your lights on, or i look out the window and see my lights on when i know they were off when i went in the house...... in my situation the only thing that they always had in common was on a day when i happened to open the ash tray to retrieve a receipt from the ash tray..... the light would go on, then and i would close it and the light would go off..... i don't know; i'm not an electrician, but that was the only thing that the occurrences had in common..... i deliberately repeated it once and it happened again..... perhaps it can give you a place to start looking.... anyway; the one thing i would do that would always clear it would be to disconnect the positive and negative wires running to the battery and hold them together without touching the battery for about 5 minutes or so..... i heard it discharges all the capacitors or something like that..... and then reset the clock and the presets...... good luck

I think this may be the case with the alpharex, I didn't want to run the tap in plug through the firewall and connected it to the EFI.
I'll run a cable to the ignition and try

Im having the same issue with the alpharex, wasn't sure if it was because the headlight switch was left on auto and the fog lights on so they would turn on all together . but the EFI tap makes sense. where you able to figure it out? im not too savvy on auto wiring so would like to know if anyone has the solution for this.

hi, I never had the time to do it. I just deal with people telling me: Your lights are on. Neighbors used to text me all the time, now they are just used to.
