The hell? Didn't know that was a thing. If it's a known issue, does anyone know if they fixed it before the 2020 model year?

They are nice looking. Kind of look like the ridge grapplers to me.

I've never had an issue with mine. I have heard if you wash your car it can freeze if you don't drive it around to get the water out.
It routinely gets below 0f where I live all the time in the winter, I always park leaving the trunk in N with the brake on and never had an issue with it sticking. Though I will say the hydraulic clutch does not like negative temperatures

I see you're from SE PA. Is the 41-33 on the tailgate your FP Radio Identifier?

I noticed that as well. Never had that problem before on any MT vehicle I've owned.

Apparently not. The mechanic I talked with said they just had a loner Tacoma do the same thing the other morning… He said nothing broke it loose until they drug it inside to take the drums apart and it released before they got to it, presumably from the heated bay it was parked in…

Haha, nah, that’s the Eagle’s winning super bowl score…

The heaters worked, I’m back in business, but missed my shift, so one lost day of work not bad…:notsure: Never using my parking brake again!

Edit: It is such a force of habit for me to put the parking brake on, I had to think of something to stop me from using it until the habit is broken!

I think I'd have to dig through that system to figure out what the engineering mistake is and try to fix it because I'm one of those weird guys that will only use the parking brake rather than parking in gear.

Well I read through a couple old topics here while waiting on the heaters, and most guys who dig into it just end up frustrated because they literally find nothing wrong with the whole system. To the point the mechanic I talked with said don’t tow it in here, cause we’ve looked at them, we can’t even figure out where it’s sticking(pads, line, handle). So I don’t know. I have an auto, so don’t really need it for anything, but I’ve always used it out of habit that was formed from years of driving manuals…:notsure:

My past experience has always been not with freezing temperatures, but with how wet the environment is when the temps do finally drop below freezing...

If the roads are dry, and the underside of your truck is dry, you can apply the parking brake.
If the roads are wet (snow, melting snow, cold rain, etc.), and the underside of your truck is wet, and you KNOW the temps are gonna drop, do NOT apply the parking brake.

The last (4) tires I bought made by Cooper, well 3 out of the 4 were out of round. What really bothered me about the issue was the damn tire techs could literally physically see the out of roundness and continued mounting and tried to balance them without alerting the powers to be that these tires were a POS. Just saying.....

Changed out my cabin air filter and found a pile of what looks like insulation on top of it. I thought it could be rodents but the filter was dirty but otherwise intact, not chewed up, and the insulation was clean with no poop anywhere to be found. I don't remember driving through any loose insulation that could have gotten sucked up into the intake but that's the only other idea I've got.

My truck got stuck the next day after i bought it.
Brought it home washed it. Came out to go to work and it wouldn't move.
Had to grab the E-brake lines and shake them and hit the rear drums with a hammer to get it to move.
Never used that shit again.Temp was in the upper 60's that morning, so mine was caused from me washing it.

That looks like the insulation from under the carpet.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Don't shit where you eat. Critters follow those rules, too. Something put that there and I'd be keeping a very close eye on your wiring. Maybe consider pepper sprays or similar to defend against them.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. Maybe the insulation isn't actually from your vehicle but from a nearby one?

I might be biased, but I think I have the best looking thing back in the garage. My hood now matches the rest of my truck, got it back from the body shop last week!
