Work warehouse, we don't use it for anything but storing toys and winter parking.

I figured it was a given that a rodent put that there. Agreed, there is zero chance that insulation got there any other way.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I'd be freakin' on that only because I have seen rodents completely total very nice trucks, and the scariest was my friend/neighbor was a hotshot electrical systems guru at my local Ford. I was in his bay to chat with him about something he was going to do for me on one of my F450 Forestry trucks. He was working on a BRAND NEW F350 King Ranch dually with no license plate yet...that kind of new. They had him replacing THE ENTIRE factory wire harness in the truck because it was eaten by mice throughout the entire truck. It came in far enough under the $75k+ price of the truck at the time.

I would have traded that puppy in the day they presented it finished!

You have something in there............... Check under your cowl, it is where they enter. Here is a pic of mine where it chewed thru the cheap ass fix Toyota did. Other gens did not even have a screen.

Thanks, I went and took a better look at the discarded filter and found some mouse poop down in the folds of it. We had some mice in the garage where I keep it a few months back, I trapped them and haven't seen any signs in a while. I'll have to pop the cowl and check this, thanks!

I looked up in the foot wells and can't see any missing, could be way up where I can't see it though.

Hopefully the little bugger is dead by now. I didn't notice anything off (wires chewed, nesting materials) in the engine bay and nothing in the air box but I'm gonna take a reeeeeal close look now to make sure.

I had rat poop on my engine shroud the other day and saw the claw marks where the little shit climbed up the rad hoses.

Their lives are not important to me, but I also don't want to draw added attention from them with baited traps. Any tried and true suggestions from the peanut gallery?

Unfortunately eliminating the source of rats isn't doable since there is a homeless lady here with two rat infested cars parked in the street (yay PNW...)

Check around the area where you park the truck. The little bastard might roam the area and decided your truck was a good place to make a home! Good Luck!

I've been contemplating removing the black vinyl between the front and rear windows since I got my truck, so I finally dove in and did it last night. I spent more time removing the leftover adhesive (with Goo Gone and shop rags) than removing the actual vinyl... all in all it took about two hours.

Next up: a trip to the carwash, clearly...

As a fellow PDX resident, I totally understand and sympathize.

Honestly, I don't really know what else you could to do other than baited traps. That said, I'd probably avoid poisons since you probably don't want to murder you neighbor's cat or an innocent raccoon.

To air up all 4 tires at the same time. I have the MORRFlate system and can air down all 4 tires at the same time and then it takes me just over 4 minutes to inflate all 4 from 15psi to 37psi.

Hmm, I honestly didn't even know the vinyl was there because I have a midnight black truck. I'll have to look more closely at it.

Someone around here poisoned a bunch of rats and two weeks later there were six dead great horned owls in a park.

The should have replaced them. My last set of cooper tires were prorated and they gave me @$400 towards the new set.

Eliminate the lady. I've been using this simple fix for years and it's always worked well for me.
