Finally used my truck a few weeks ago. It worked well and nothing broke. These pics were taken at the Valley Of The Moon by @sdfstop

So I was tired of replacing the windshield washer reservoir... damn neck kept cracking and it really wasn't in a good spot due to the SAC. I came up with this bracket and 1987 tank/ pump combo. Works great.

I decided to make some splash guards from conveyor belt material. I threw around the idea of cutting/ shaping some sheet metal to fill in gaps around the shock towers, but that was too much work.

About a year ago, I bought a pair of sliders from Marlin Crawler. The kit is 75% welded out but you need to measure/ cut/ weld on the kickers which I welded to plates I had welded on the frame from the previous set I made years ago. I had them powder coated. Both now hold air.

Where did you pick up the new windshield washer tank? Judging by the pics, it might fit perfect between my air box and core support.... I just didn't see it on rockauto or summit racing, or anywhere really for that matter

    IIRC, autoanything.com.
It's for an '87 Toyota truck. It came with a pump too ... all for $34.00 plus s&h and tax.
Here are more pics for reference. I bolted the bracket to the airbag sensor bolts as they are long enough to use.

Legit! I'm going to have to look into something similar. I want OBA and want to free up room in the engine bay for it.

FWIW, I bought that same washer bottle off eBay for $25 shipped. Not OEM but it is brand new.

Been a while for an update...
I am 3 linking the rear with a 4WU kit. Brian has moved from Washington to east county in San Diego which is close to my place.
We met at my dads place as he needed to measure my truck for upper CO/ bump mount templates. Once complete, I can get this project underway.
Still waiting for 1 FOX CO and upper/ lower Hyperco springs... probably in a boat off of the coast of Long Beach.

    More to follow.

Hey Ritchie. Clean build. Looking to SAS my truck but, like you, I want to maintain a low ride height. Im thinking </= 23" on 35's. I believe you ended up at 20" with stock tires IIRC. I know you had done some moving/tweeking of shock towers and link mounts, but would you say that with the 4WU kit and the 12" CO's that your initial frame height could be somewhat standard for this kit? Or what additional modifications specifically were required to obtain that frame height. Or is that more of a question for @4Wheel Underground? Appreciate any insight!

23 in frame height isn’t hard to get. I’m 23 inches to the frame on 39s. It’s using all the travel of a shock and having decent up travel. It takes a lot of cutting the frame and clearancing. I’m using a full 14 in shock with 6.5 inches of up travel. On 35s my frame height would be about 21. And I could always lower it and just have less up travel.

Local guy to me is putting a set of diamonds under his 1st gen with 4wu and it’s not going well… I’ll leave it at that and if you want to pm me for specifics more than welcome too.

Okay well that’s hopeful then. Unfortunate about the 4WU kit…I may message you then…

I’ve already said it multiple times. He’s claiming the same numbers as my build. 23-24 in frame height. 6-7 inches of uptravel and telling customers they don’t have to modify the frame.

I asked for numbers in his thread and got put on blast by his crew. No hurt feelings and I could care less because I know what it takes to get the numbers I got, it’s just misleading on his part.

local guy to me has had nothing but issues. He’s now cutting the frame, raising the motor. Can’t use the certain brackets from him. And week to a month lead time for a response from 4wu and his only response is buy more of my parts.

compare his brackets to what ruffstuff or barnes or Tmr any off road fab company. They’re all the same. His just has big fancy gussets and cool designs.

if @TacoVio is serious about trying to achieve what he says, there’s lots of reading to do if he wants it to be comfortable on and off road (ie have uptravel)

but like my signature says, I’m just mad I went with rst and not 4wu yet I did all the work myself and made 90% of the stuff on my truck. Read 4wu posts on here through his profile, I ask valid questions I feel and just get blown off every time.

And talk to anyone whose installed one of his kits that’s not part of his “crew”. You’ll be surprised by the comments. Most have had to modify things extensively and been overall displeased with the product and customer service.
