Just reading through this thread now. Planning on building my own sliders as well. Happy to have found these files!

Question. Will these fit on a 3rd Gen tacoma? Wondering if the 2nd and 3rd gen frames are the same.

If not does anyone know where I can get the bolt on files for 3rd gen?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Simpleton took these 2nd gen files and modified them to work on a 3rd gen then posted them here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-3rd-gen-sliders.534658/

You can download the same files there and you'll be good to go.

    Thank you!

I see it's not for Double Long beds.

I'll look into the thread more and see if I can adjust.

Okay-got the plates cut and bent; however, I don't know if I have ever seen a set of these things for real. That out in the open, it seems that there are as many designs as people running sliders... so what is "most" important to incorporate into my set? O degree, 15, or 25? three or four post. Kickout or straight? Does anyone have measurements or is that the top-secret part of this? How do I measure for stickout past the body pinch weld? From the door handle, the rocker plus some or some other point? Is there more of this data somewhere that I have missed? Thanks, as always in advance.

That forward tab isn’t supposed to be bent to 90 degrees. You’re going to have to bend that back some.

When I got my mobtown sliders 2nd hand I had to bend those tabs a bit and it wasn't exactly easy. Might be easier to get those in a vice since you don't have tubing yet, but I had to use giant slide clamps for leverage and a torch to soften up the bend.

Depends what you want to use them for.
I have DOM steel (wasn't a choice), 4 post, 0 degree, straight, no top.
I use them mainly as a running board but have the added protection when wheeling. I don't "rock crawl" lol

    Here is a good video:

I also found this a long time ago for reference if I wanted to build them myself. That's how I also followed this thread. I ended up just buying some because I got a great deal.
Not sure how well this design would work... lol

Finally got around to working on mine, you can tell how long they have been sitting.

These will mainly be used as roof steps and some mild protection. You guys know how much I hate grinder coping?

Finally got these things done. I didn't post much because I was procrastinating a ton...for months...per usual for me. Not my best work but probably not my worst either. I don't really care at this point. I just want them powder coated and back on the truck!

Just a few shots to get an idea of overall fitment.

Here are the finish welded sliders with storage trays. Note the wavy surface. It's not great but it's going to have to do. I know from experience that that stuff sort of fades away as noise when you see the whole vehicle. It'll drive me nuts but whatever.

    Off to powder coat Monday.

I know I'm going to drill holes in my fresh powder coat because I don't know what kind of box I'm going to use on the driver's side. Oh well. I'll just touch the holes up with paint.

I am probably going to get flamed some for asking, but what size bolts are you guys mounting these up with. I swear I could find nothing definitive looking through the whole string of posts. Also, did drawings/dimensions ever come for the bolt plates that people were making for up in the boxed part of the frame? Getting ready to mount mine so I can bend the tubing...
