How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

My dealer also said they have had so many people request Lunar that they're going to charge an extra$1k for it moving forward.

 

That is ridiculous.

Everywhere I called, I had my choice of MGM, silver, or black. Unless I wanted an SR, then it was whatever I wanted. Most places didn't understand that I Hate silver, and gunmetal. Every 3rd gen I see is one of those colours. My last three vehicles have been black, so that was an absolute no.

 

I just got off the phone with the dealer I ordered with a month ago. They got allocation info today and I did not get an allocation, told me 3 more months. I called autonation nearby and talked to someone there who said he thinks i can get it in less time. Going to meet with him tomorrow. I don't have a vehicle as my Tacoma was rear ended and totaled at the beginning of November. Shit is painful. Will probably have to rent a car at a tune of $900 a month out of pocket. Insurance covered 30 days. I told him lunar rock, then AG, then MGM, but premium tech is a must. picked a great time to get rear ended!

 

Where are you located? Pretty sure I saw what you are looking for(I'm really not sure)in my dealers allocation list.

They kept asking if I wanted MGM with a Premium package.. I really don't want fake leather. Dog would destroy it. Lol

 

I did call and speak with your dealer, Towne Toyota - they actually have an allocation for a TRD Pro, white, automatic that is scheduled to be built. Matt said he would "try" to see if he could request a change in the allocation. He didn't think it was assigned to anyone yet.

He was, however, fairly positive that whatever they do, it will be $4-$5k over MSRP.

Update: They can change the color of an allocation, but the dealer said it was essentially impossible to ever change the transmission. The model # (trans/engine/etc) is issued and part of the temp VIN, while the color is 'technically' an option and therefor changeable.

Still, I wanted to say that Matt was awesome on the phone.

 

My dealer said possitively $10k over MSRP for a Pro.

 

I'm in Tampa FL. My 2017 had Katzkins and I loved them.... really hoping the factory leather is close in quality. Or else my fat dog is getting a seat cover on the back seat.

Are you able to see your dealer allocation list? The first place I ordered from I have an in there, but the sales guy they set me up with doesn't seem like he's trying to go the extra mile to do anything... he's just like welp, we'll just see what happens. Makes me a bit nervous.

 

At first I said fuck it I'm going to get a pro since I'm close with the options... but everything I have seen on the PROs is you're not getting one for MSRP.

 

I did get mine at MSRP. Other dealers in our area are marking up ~$3K.

2022 Tacoma TRD Off-Road DCSB in Lunar Rock w/ Premium Off Road and XP Predator Packages


Deposit - 30DEC21

Allocation - 05JAN22

Build Date - 29JAN22

Expected Delivery - 28FEB22

The only concern I have is when I search the VIN everything above populates except the XP Predator Package. It has every other upgrade listed under port installs but the XP is no where to be found. The spec sheet with the VIN I got from the dealer today includes it and they assured me the truck will have it. Has anyone run into this and should I be concerned?

 

I'm glad he tried. Was worth the call. I'm paying 2k over MSRP. That is the best deal I could find to be honest. The farther away I called, the worse the mark-up became.

No. I was able to see it the day I picked mine out. I remember it because I made a comment about MGM OR, with premium packages.

The guys i talked to had made a point to say they would let me know it's progress as soon as they know anything. I'm inclined to trust them since they did right by my buddy on his 4Runner. Granted, he bought that thing right off the delivery vehicle, still had the plastic wrap on it.

 

Well, I found an unspoken for Pro in Georgia. However, when the salesman sent over their out the door price I laughed my ass off. Look at all this dumb added shit that he said couldn't be removed.

Rain package? Weather Techs are $500 bucks now, I guess this is how they justify ADM????

Yeah, that's nuts. The AutoNation price is already higher than MSRP on the Toyota site, isn't it? and that $700 fee for them to use their computer for the documentation is also higher than I have seen. Isn't standard doc fee already outrageous at $4-$500?
