Got a big dent in my rear bumper and am looking for a new one. I can’t find any local at a scrap yard and can’t find any painted ones online. Should I spend the money on a stock one and get it painted to match my truck or get an aftermarket one? What are some good affordable aftermarket options? Thanks

I'd get a rear steel bumper. This is the store I pimp all the time, I have no affiliation, but they have free shipping.

I would get a stock. I got the stock one and painted it for about $250 total.

aftermarket bumpers are cool, and I would love one with the swing out for spare tire and fuel and water canisters, but they crazy expensive. Like $2000.

If you go with a cheap "oem" or a steel after market bumper you will be fighting rust for the rest of its life. There are some reasonably priced steel bumpers that look cool but not as strong as ones made by well known companies. Here is an example of a Bumper that might take a hit ok but probably rip/bend if you try to recover with it.

My thinking is stick with stock. An aftermarket steel bumper can be considerably heavier too. And if you plan to sell the truck, it's probably worth more with a stock bumper. To me anyway.
Could you have someone repair the bumper to a satisfactory condition?

It’s pretty bad. Backed into a concrete barrier on accident and it pressed in. I tried to knock it out but it didn’t budge.

None. 220k miles, just did a major brake/ suspension overhaul to keep him on the road.
I am in the same problem, opposite side. My truck came with a dent on drivers side bumper. It’s been rubbing the rear panel and now the paints gone and is rusting. Means it’s a matter of years before I have to replace or pint whole panel. (stock oem bumper with black plastic covers) every custom bumper is $1-2k and I can’t locate a single used bumper.
