Any help identifying this plug would be appreciated! I haven’t been able to find a diagram with these wires listed. The plug is connected to the taillight harness and the grey connector also pictured is for the plate illuminators. B45E7AD3-F9A7-40F1-A344-A7FF691F155F.jpg

My guess is for the 7-Pin trailer light harness?
Do you have the Tow Package or any trailer wiring?

The truck appears to have a factory hitch receiver but the bracket that would hold the 7-pin connection is bent. I assume it was broken off by a previous owner and they just removed that whole section of wiring.

I’m about to install a new connector and I’m hoping to do the least amount of wire destruction possible. Thanks.

The wire colors match as far as I can see for the Towing Trailer Socket.

    Gray
    Green/black
    White/black
    Lavender/red
    Lavender/orange
    Red/white
    Yellow

@jimmyh Do you know of a way I can connect to or get that wiring trailer socket?
Mine is just capped with a blank and I would like to install a factory trailer harness plug.

82824-34050 seems to be the part number for the trailer plug with harness, I found this while poking around.
I would verify that plug has power in the proper places before getting one though.

So I do not have the 8pin connector, all that I have put back is a 4 pin connector. Red/black/blue/white.

The 4 pin is for the backup camera.

Well good to note that I could install a back up camera (my wife really wants one). It seems the bad news is I have no wiring for a trailer. There is Nothing, the wiring comes from forward down the frame rail to the drivers taillight, across to 4 pin camera, then over to passenger taillight.

thanks for your time and efforts

Those hopkins converter kits aren't terribly hard to install, I've done quite a few at the shop where I work. The worst part is running the 12v feed wire up to the battery which on a truck isn't too bad.

I have a brand new one OEM in the bag. It includes the mounting plate that most people bend and break off the hitch.
