    noob here,
my next car is a tacoma...

I know what the TRD-Pro specs are, but is the TRD-Pro lifted like the TRD-Offroad, or its a version of the TRD Sport ?

I hate the Toyota-Entune system, have tried to fix phone sync problems for various friends, and also myself using rentals, it truly horrible. I want to swap the head-unit out to a third party Pioneer/Sony, not sure if it will be fully compatible with a TRD-Pro/Offroad.

This is easy. If you have the money buy the Pro. The Off road is not lifted. It is a different option than the sport. I just upgraded from a 2016 SR5 to a 2022 Off road. The ride is great. If you want the best, baddest, coolest, that would be the Pro.

No idea about the audio difference.

Depends on your plans with the truck. Plan heavily modding it, lift and wheels. Stay with the OR. Gonna leave it stock and can afford it go pro. I myself went with an OR. I knew I was going to lift it and you can't get a longbed in a Pro configuration.

Have the 21 Pro. They say it is lifted but feels
same height as Trd off road and sport.

Pro comes with 2 year nav and xm.

Go with what they have in stock.

TRD pro is just a trd offroad with a few changes.

Upgraded suspension - offroad has bilsteins, pro has fox shocks. Pro sits 1 inch higher in the front
Skid plates - offroad has thin steel ones, pro has thicker aluminum skids.
The rest of the stuff is cosmetic... headlights, taillights, hood scoop, leather seats, different wheels.

Really the main selling point for offroading is the rear diff on both the pro and the offroad. Its larger than other models, and also comes as a factory locker. They both have multi terrain and crawl control.

So if you are planning to change the suspension anyways, and put on aftermarket skids, then start with the offroad. You can add other pro parts anytime you want to make it a clone for much cheaper than it actually costs to buy one.

I agree, I went with the Offroad. Threw on TRD Pro suspension, front spacer, rear AAL, RCI alu skids and sliders and I got my Off road pre-covid so it was 10k cheaper then the Pro.

Hard top camper...many more to add+
SNAHALF - above makes an excellent point… and if you are planning to lift your truck…the TRD Off road will be cheaper…I agree here..
Yes the PRO ,name puts you into a different class..( up-grades)…
All stereos speakers can be replace with many aftermarket Audio companies…enhancing the listening experiences…making it way better then stock speakers..

Want the TOP of line Tacoma buy the PRO…especially if you are going to remain stock…Yes there are some excellent lift kits for the PRO keeping many of the components…and still consider a PRO model..
Enjoy…. hope you get what you want…
    Aloha

Had a 2017 OR and it was awsome. This time around ordered a 2022 Pro. Just like the look of it stock and won't touch the suspension. Just better tires and that's it.

In Canada you can't get LB OR so both trucks have to be SB, so that made the choice to go Pro easier.

Can't go wrong with either, one other thing to keep in mind is that OR is a lot easier to buy right now. Pro is a 5+ month wait.

I wanted a pro, but I needed a long bed and wanted inferno. My only option was to make my own pro out of a offroad.

True to a point.... I have a TRD sport with the larger rear diff, 8.75", since I have a manual transmission.... And only autos have multi terrain and crawl control. Manuals don't come with those toys. And like you said, everything else is cosmetic...

If you are going to mod get the offroad. If you just want a plush stock truck get the PRO. If you are going to be a hell bent modder get a previously owned SR5 and rip it apart.

Although it costs more than the OR, isn't available with Crawl Control, optional LED headlights, and does not have fog lights. The trail does have a rear locker, a TRD Pro style grill, and TRD Pro wheels in bronze. The truck is also lifted.

What ever you decide to buy. You can turn it into a Pro by adding the TRD Pro letters, for the new embossed bedsides found on the 22 Pro.
