I just like that the doggo is wearing a vest and seems super happy about it.

It has been unseasonably warm over in those parts. That would most likely be why they have stuck around for so long this year.

I was more replying to @Gritto

A lot species that are migratory have some that don't follow the norm. Low numbers will overwinter and never leave. So that is a possibility, or they are early returning breeding residents there or some migrating through and north of you where they breed.

Or returning early. Research is showing shift to earlier breeding and returning migrants - correlated with warming climate.

Interesting. I would have figured it was more towards the side of late leaving since they really haven't had any cold weather over there yet. My brother lives not far from Maine and they just had the first significant snowfall and cold temps for the year. He had green grass and open water in his area up until this week. The birds going south and coming back early already will have a rough time I would imagine as the cold/snowy months are yet to come really in those parts.
