Dealers have always marked up special edition vehicles or new model years. I think the supply chain/ global issues have just become an excuse to take advantage of the situation further.

@Fredk Were you planning on buying the new EV F150 Lighting?

RC is just a side hobby these days. I was more involved with it years ago when the nitro scene was big. My current favorite is a Tekno MT410 1/8 monster truck. I've got a few pictures of it in the RC thread on the forums. I would like to build a Team Associated T6.2 and do a nitro conversion on it.

    Updates to come...
the reports I've read are that they're jacking up the price AFTER people that have pre-ordered. Supposedly these people have signed agreements on the pricing of the vehicle when they ordered it. This is what Ford is trying to stop - which is correct if the owner has a signed document from Ford for the price.

As for the no sell until 1 year - that's exactly what they're doing with the Lightning - you can't buy it unless you sign an agreement to keep it for 1 year. To each their own if they want it. I personally agree with other posts that I don't see an EV Truck being all that great to me. The point of a truck is the utility of hauling, pulling, and going off road. Hauling and pulling greatly reduce the range of an EV, and I personally buy trucks to spend a couple days off the grid - no place to charge the beast (plus the weight).

All this in regards to the Lightning
