I have a 09 pre-runner an about a 9 months back I had an A/C leakage problem and I replace my compressor, condenser ( built in drier), evaporator, expansion valve, filter tube, and low side a/c hose that comes out the a/c compressor. vacuum and charged with r134a. Was driving perfect with a/c blowing fine. Recently, in the morning if it had rained on a cold start or random cold start the a/c does not blow cold air anymore until the coolant temperature reaches mid point than I get cold air through the system. I have turned off the car and restart the car before it reached mid range for the coolant gauge and still same problem blowing warm air. I toggle through the A/C buttons with different combination to see if it would make a difference but nothing even inside air recirculation. I tried driving around and engaging the A/C still blows hot air until it reaches mid point in coolant gauge. This will happen randomly on cold start only. When it happen I checked the A/C console light nothing is flashing. I have changed out the magnetic relay just in case but but problem is still there. I checked the A/C refrigerant already and the values are within range when I got home from a drive while the A/C was working again.

But something to note. When it is blowing hot air my AC compressor clutch isn't engaging on a cold start. I live in the Florida area so its around 80 to 85 degree right now. I also change the cabinet filter to make sure and check the A/C blower motor as well when it was blowing hot air and all dial speed is working. I am stumped any ideas, suggestion, or somewhere I should zero in on? This happen randomly every few days I can't figure it out. No R134a leakage for sure. Please rule that out I couldn't figure it out so I dropped the car off at my tech and it can't be reproduce after trying everything and the r134a value is within range he said. Anyone had this issue before or have any idea where I should start looking to fix it?

Very interesting problem, it seems to me the A/C Amplifier is not seeing all the correct signals to enable the A/C Compressor.
I'm assuming the A/C light is coming on when it doesn't work, I would start with checking the signal pins at the A/C Amplifier when it is acting up and seeing if one or more is out of spec.

I see a solid light on the A/C when the a/c is on and blowing warm air as well as when it is blowing cold. I do not see any blinking on the A/C. I will pull the glove box out tomorrow and inspect the fitting to make sure nothing is burned.

I would check the #1 terminal for the magnetic clutch coil down at the connector on the compressor, (pretty sure it is a Violet or purple wire) for voltage when the problem is happening as you say you have a solid AC light when it is happening and as such the coil should be energized.

Also being as you have a 2009 and has some age on it I would check the compressor clutch as they have also been known for causing issues.

I would expect the A/C light to be flashing if the A/C Amplifier was trying to engage the clutch but not seeing an RPM signal from the compressor, that tells me that it's not even trying to turn the compressor on but still wouldn't hurt to check I suppose.
