So question for all you soothsayers:

Before I make a HUGE purchase on a TRD skid plate, those of yall who have purchased it, can you confirm you searched and bought part # PTR6035190?

Found one online at Toyota of Greenville (South Carolina) for $325.01 plus their free ground shipping coupon.

I put my VIN in their and said it was wouldn't fit. Google quick search said that previously mentioned part number was it. And even BAM Wholesale indicates this is the proper part.

Have a TRD Sport so I know it should at least fit.

Hit up a local trail in Big Bear, CA area and smashed through some frozen mud pits with friends yesterday. Then, I had to scoop out some chunks of ice trapped on the front skid plate with the hockey stick. (Edit: Anyone else ever use an odd ball piece of equipment, such as a hockey stick, as part of their recovery or overlanding/off-roading gear? Lol) I think some of the ice may have been cutting up the serpentine belt; heard some whining noise from there after a few dips in the mud pits. Maybe, it was debris and water on the belt causing the noise. Hopefully, no pulleys got messed up. 2ED09EA7-EA0B-4918-9DDF-C61C9132DF49.jpg 90335ABB-1F6C-4DDD-BCCD-1C00F3F2CA0B.jpg D8CD864E-EB77-4581-BAE7-98ED8EE67358.jpg 5005AB27-51E4-463A-AC83-DF8BEF9AE73E.jpg A6BF80EF-8E87-4E08-9BA8-81AE0465817C.jpg 92C1C371-DD77-459A-A6ED-0FE358308DE9.jpg A2AF3098-FE5B-4E71-AAF5-B85DE7DE56A1.jpg

Under armrest molle panel by victory 4x4. Requires 4 small pilot holes for self tapping screws with spacers. Handy for clip on things.

Started at $1,500, but I had a coupon and they gave me a military discount. It was about $1k out the door. Like I mentioned, 5 year guarantee. If it loses any effectiveness, they'll recoat it. Also have 5 years of free detailing. They did an amazing job. Totally worth it. I'll do it again when the five years is up.

If it's for a third gen, it'll fit. Even a second gen will fit.

I have the same one. Was the first mod I did. It’s been on for about 4 months now, no issues. Still looks like new. Keeps the bed pretty dry and secure. Sturdy enough to stand on no problem.
If you need to frequently open the cover for access, maybe consider another brand like Bakflip (had this one on my last Tacoma.)
No off gassing for me, I also am not garage parked most of the time. Actually my bed mat was the most noticeable for off gassing.

Post up your results!! I was thinking the same about cutting but then figured WTH, I can buy the bumper caps all day long for just a bit over $100 bucks so if you screw up, it's a pretty easy and cheap fix! I was planning on covering the panels with painter's tape and layout the template and go to town! Dremel, Baby!! :headbang:

Gracias! I figured it was but website say one things. Actuality is another.

And on that note, I bought the TRD Skid plate for a great price of $344 (including tax and free shipping). Not a great price, but not bad either considering it list for $360-400 on a few other dealer websites.

    Win-win in my book.

No. It's douchy! BIG TIME! I was referring to the racing post and YouTube video. I guess maybe I wasn't terribly clear on that.

    A bunch of junk
Messing around with ideas. Might use as the background to the prinsu logo as well as filler for the light openings on the back of the rago endeavor. Was going to wash truck but it's like 36 degrees and I'm lazy.
