Looking for an OEM Toyota roof rack to fit my 2013 double cab. I only need to carry a kayak in the summers so nothing beefier is needed. Is there anyone on here who has upgraded theirs and wants to sell me their OEM roof rack? Shipping to V8G 1C2.

When I bought my truck they didn't had one in stock to see in person so I ordered it.
A cpl weeks later my neighbor installed his, and I'm glad I saw it, its ugly as homemade sh!t, he took it off a few weeks later. I do not need a roof rack, bought mine for looks, so I canceled it.
Try and look at one before buying it.

Sorry, but that is just silly.

I need one to hold a kayak, nothing more. I can spend the money on a Prinsu but it would be overkill and would reduce my already mediocre mileage. I like that the OEM rack can have the cross bars stowed in such a way as to reduce air resistance and wind noise when not needed. Also makes it easier to clear the snow off the roof in the winter. I would imagine that the Prinsu cross bars would trap a lot of the snow up there which drives me nuts.

This. I talk myself out of buying a rack every time I have to go clear snow off the truck.

Might not be ideal, but I have an Access Cab, so no OEM options for me.

But to carry our 2 kayaks, I bought a solid clamp-on set made by Rhino Rack. etrailer will have a package on their site. And then just take down the Rhino Rack part numbers they list, and buy the individual components on Amazon. Was way cheaper that way, and I got the full set up. Also easy to remove when not needed, like in winter.

I went with the Aero bars and have done multiple trips from ON-NS, ON-Yukon with 2 kayaks and no issues.

If left on all year, they can damage your paint, so again not a perfect solution. But they look decent (I think), and work well

Also, with a different set of mounting pads, and making adjustments on the width, you can use them on other vehicles too.

Because they worked so well, we bought a set for my wife’s Ford Edge too. and all the part numbers were the same, except for the foot pads. We sold her Edge last spring but still have the racks. So DM me if you want to chat more about them. I’m near Edmonton, so shipping wouldn’t be too bad

    Matter of opinion.
We've had several VW Sportwagen and while living in Europe a few Opel Zafira/Astra, all with German build roof rails, and, I love them. Very practical for carrying large objects, like windows, doors, a mattress and many other things in a place where pickup trucks were less common.
Can put a set of cr9ssbars(or not) and they look nice. The Tacoma OEM ones, look like homemade sh!t, the fit and finish are horrible, not to mention that on older 3rd gen they won't even work with the fin.
In the pictures, on the Toyota website they were too small to have a better idea, I'm glad I had a chance to see them installed on someone else's truck.
Not sure what you find silly about it, all a matter of taste that apparently we don't share.

Yes on both counts, but there's nothing wrong with it either way. It's your money to spend. For me, at this time, the OEM will do the job I need it to do and I don't mind the way it looks.

I don't suppose your neighbour still has his roof rack and wants to sell it? Though judging by how you spelled neighbor I am guessing you are in the USA and shipping would be too expensive.

    Probably autocorrect.
I'm actually in Calgary, and, I usually spell neighbour with a "u".
And, no dice, neighboiur was able to take his back to Toyota for a full refund, as his 018 Taco has a different fin that didn't allow the rear crossbar to set properly.
He got a Prinsu rack after from Krave. It looks better and a similar price.

    All the best.
    Chee4s!
