Heat the grill to over 500 degrees. Cook 5 minutes on a side, after the flip to the uncooked side the internal temp should be about 135 degrees. If not continue cooking on that side. If you are going for cross hatch char marks flip every 2 1/2 minutes. This is a marinade I like on both salmon and tuna. You can substitute lemon or lime. When making the marinade I like to use garlic and ginger in a tube. You can find these items in the produce section of any major grocery chain store. Marinade for about an hour and save any excess marinade to brush on fish while cooking.

    · 2 Lb Salmon or Tuna

    Marinade

    · 6 Tbls Olive oil

    · 2 Tbls Aminos or Soy sauce
    · 1 Tbls Dejon Mustard
. 1 Tbls lime or lemon juice

    · 1 Tbls Ginger

    · 1 Tbls garlic

Salmon on grill skin side down smear marinade on top. Cover and cook 5 min.

Add more marinade and cook on meat side 5 min.

You can also add a few Tbls of Honey if you want to sweeten the marinade up some. Use the left-over lime or lemon cut into wedges for use when serving.

 If I'd known I could get 10 Dormans just like what I had on ONE day Prime from Amazon, I wouldn't even have bought the one! I just figured I'd be driving to a San Marcos dealer, since you can't get them here.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch! Well, the wheel goes back on today when the sun comes out. Guess how many cross checks I'll be doing?

I think maybe I wll go get some good Rib Eyes for a reverse sear tonight. Make my kid his last steak for a while; once he moves, he won't be getting that often! Have a good one everyone.

Here is a piece of advice.
When you start to put a wheel on, do not leave that wheel. Tighten it down and torque it.
Then go to the next. You can jam a brick or similar on the ground to stop the wheel from rotating
While tightening. So many different techniques but pick the one procedure that makes YOU 100% confident it’s completed. Then after your done, do a walk around with your wrench and hit them again.
I have 3 or 4 different ways I do it depending on if I’m on a lift, 2 wheels,4 wheels, being interrupted..

I had a mentor (Frank) back when I was a tadpole, a guy that spent WWII in the Merchant Marine. He was on a ship in a convoy, in the middle of the Atlantic, traveling grouped because it is harder to sink everything in a herd. The Nazi wolfpacks got a high percentage of ships traveling solo, but fewer if they were traveling together.

The ship Frank was on lost a prop shaft bearing. Replacing that bearing required drydock in normal circumstances. They had the part, but no way to press the bearing into the housing, and they were dead in the water with the convoy steaming away. Adrift in the middle of the ocean with sharks circling. Sharks with torpedoes.

They gathered all the freon fire extinguishers and hosed down the bearing... and it slipped into position. A job that would normally take a couple of days in drydock took them a few hours. They were motivated...

    Nice covers.

I'd like to put some horse blanket covers on one of mine, maybe both, but they have gotten so damn expensive. For what I'd get out of them it just isn't worth it.

Test drive? ARE YOU CRAZY?? I moved it over in the driveway, and nothing fell off. It's blowing a cold wind, and I got dinner to make.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

We got a nice thin coating of ice on the driveway yesterday and it never got warm enough to melt it - not sure if we can get down since it has a pretty decent grade and a corner with drops on both sides. No sun and sub freezing temps for the next few days so we may be stuck here for a few days. The township trucks had not been down our road as of when we went to bed last night. I'm not a huge snow fan, but I hate ice.

We are all still COVID symptom free - keeping our fingers crossed.

    Stay safe out there!!

Not much I can do about ice. Driveway is brick pavers, two slight curves, and slight up to the road. Top priority is to keep it clean or take the truck. 90% of the time, get rain, freeze, snow in that order. Got lucky this time, pay for it next time. Keep a couple bags of treated rock salt and a spud bar handy until May.

When it's hidden under the snow it's perilous walking much like driving on black ice. Fall in the snow may result in a little hurt pride. A spill on the ice can be an entirely different story.

At least you have a good-looking supervisor that likes to help out!

We had a thawing overnight last night. The temp die not go below freezing and with the winds a lot of the snow is melted. Today is fix the Toro snow blower. Wish we could post videos but sort of glad we cannot. ;)

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porchies! Sunny now, but windy, 50*'s, and clouds coming up, and going to stay that way a couple days. Probably going to make a couple supervised trips around the block with the wife following me - just to be sure nothing gets crooked! Then I have a kitchen faucet to pick up at Lowe's. Not really nice enough to start cleaning off all the freeze back, so maybe I will finally mow. Or, just replace the faucet.

One thing about being stuck in the house Mark - no Covid gonna' come and get you either! This new one is a pain; keeps creeping closer to people the wife knows and sees.

Got a license when I was kid.. maybe 13 or 14. It was a merit badge in boy scouts. Stayed active for a few years, built my own equipment, etc. WN8IBX. The N was for novice. That was back in the vacuum tube days, before transistors, CB radio. Then one day I discovered girls, and that was the end of that.
