Driver seat back won't click in

Hey all...

I just put in a replacement driver seat (from the junk yard) to replace my original one with almost 400k miles of squished seat padding. The new seat only has about 130k miles on it and from outward appearances looks almost brand new.
The "new" seat I thought was perfect but for some reason the back rest won't click in to position near the top of the range. It clicks fine when it's reclined some.
Is this fixable? Or is it maybe the seat covers interfering with the latching mechanism some how. I looked and it doesn't seem like anything is even close to interfere.

 

That is something you will need to lay eyeballs on to diagnose.

I will say that the seat was from a wrecked vehicle chances are good that the seat back latch is broken or at least damaged.

 

You might have to swap “new” seat to old frame if you can’t get it fixed

 

Are you referring to the slider frame or the seat frame?
